Yes you need them, more than design patterns, 'best' framework, and latest syntactical features of language you are using.

It depends what you want to do. VueJs is really awesome. Stick with it. For backend, have a look at the python. It is easy to learn and really powerful. I love Javascript and I encourage you to checkout node.js also. Thank you.

@@toxicgamingzrk nope it's not required you can start with the very basic and once you will get friendly with the css frameworks bootstrap or HTML that will gradually make you friendly with the environment. With time when you will have enough knowledge of HTML,css you will come to know that if you are really good in logics or data structures. But it's better to start learning something than thinking much. I know currently we do have lot of options and we easily get distracted but remember if you master one thing then that will always help you achieving your goals in long run. All the best mate .

I am reading an book and the previous 7 chapters are hard to understand (arrays, linked lists, queues, dequeues, stacks) but I managed to understand 90% of them. Now I am stuck with Tree and its traversal algorithm... really want to cry... I hope I can finish this algorithm book in the end...

When using frameworks or librabries like React or Angular, does knowing DS give u an advantage ?

In my opinion Yes. If you know which DS is better in certain cases and use Map instead of normal array for example, you will get performance boost on relatively large data.
