I've had mine since the first year they came out and it's been in all elements in my open sided shack....always keep things gradual and don't rush and generally you shouldn't have a problem! 👍 Ps don't rely on the temp gauge it comes with!

Invest in a dual digital thermometer one for the kamado and one for the meat.

My new one arrived a couple of days ago, built today. The latest instructions do actually say to cure before use and how to do so.

Thank you this video was very helpful. Can we just ask one question we have a line that has been cut out of the inner fire bowl - is this an expansion joint ?

Hi, thanks again for the awesome video. What temp should it get upto over the hour or so period, mine only reached about 110 c by this point? Are we aiming for searing hot before closing? Thanks!

Completely depends on how your vents were set this may help you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmPGXmeBmZmBd5I

Hi Tom, thanks for your great advice and tips: you inspired me to make a purchase. I suspected my temp guage was inaccurate so removed it and tested it in boiling water. It reads 30° at boiling point and there is no screw to make any adjustments. Any tips?
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
2 choices first live with it and make adjustments In you head. Second is replace with an aftermarket one

Thank you for this, I’ve just bought one! On Aldi’s website your KZbin channel was recommended to be watched. I’m planning on gleaning as much info as I can as my husband has threatened to send it back if I don’t use it! 😂

Hi Tom. Just fired up my new AK for the first time exactly as per your video and before it reached 120 C the fire bowl cracked! Devastated. Has anyone else had problems? At that temperature I suspect there is a manufacturing fault.
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
Yes mate manufacture fault. Fire bowl are out of stock until September unfortunately but you can keep using it until then
@johnlamb47142 жыл бұрын
@@BBQLIFE Thanks for your reply. Rang Aldi and they said exactly that, that they had no replacement fire bowls at present. So they are replacing the whole thing! Perhaps they know there are some bad quality firings. 🤔

Hi you mention about opening the daisy wheel, is that just small slots that are to be opened or pushing the whole disc to one side?
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
The whole disk on start up mate
@OlympicRudi2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. Initially assumed full thing at the start & the small slots after but this makes me think full wheel for every part

Hinged open on start up Hinge closed for cooking the daisy vents open

Thanks for that. As moisture is the enemy, for those of us who don’t have a covered area am I right in thinking it’s not a good idea to bbq if it’s raining and should they not be stored outside in prolonged periods of wet weather?
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
If you can get it stored In a shed or garage it's better. Bbq in tbe rain isn't too bad unless it's tipping down most people adapt a umbrella to cover the vents.

I use a pop up gazebo when using my ProQ Frontier and Weber kettle in inclement weather and I will do the same with my new AK. However, I did bottle it today and will wait to 'cure' it when the winds have dropped somewhat!

Hi Tom, I keep looking for your videos on the YOuTube homepage so that I can check the translation of the Aldi Kamado on the subtitles display of the hover to play feature, this one is the Audi Commando! The Epic Fail one alerted me to this humour as it featured the Ability Tomato which could a description of the Komado Joe version!
