I like your sensible approach that results in kindness and mercy on yourself, which goes a long way in comparison to discouraging yourself. Thanks for that!

Who will be compassionate towards us if not ourselves first?🫂

The big picture is if you've not drank for 5 months, but in that first or second month you slipped up you still have 5 months of sobriety. Its not letting yourself get derailed. Just learn from it. I am more interested in getting myself out of the mindset of drinking. The why am I choosing it and also paying attention to how it actually makes me feel the next day. Literally allowing myself to realize how toxic it actually is as well as my storylines I use as reasons to poison myself. Toxic is inTOXICated. Very few people can handle their booze well.

I AM talking to you lol. Welcome back...again. It's a journey right? What would a journey be without some bumps in the road and a few detours. It would just be the way, and it would be easy.

That's funny I was just thinking the same thing. Just discovered this channel and it's my favorite "sober" KZbinr so far. I find Jae super relatable. We are the same age. I've gone through the same struggle with working out and eating healthy just to sabotage my work with booze. So many things he says I feel like I'm talking to myself in the mirror.

Needed to watch this one again to help understand its a slip and that's it. I'm learning as I go and works best for me, and how to be down on myself. Doesn't change and just makes it worse. Cheers Jae 🙏

I found an interesting question. Why are alcoholics called alocoholics but smokers aren't called narcotics. I don't consider myself an alcoholic I just wanna stop drinking to save a bit of money stop being tired and not gain anymore weight

I think as you’ve said that a schedule is important. This has helped me get to day six and I’ve not had a lot of issue except for day three and four were rough physically as in head ache and mild hangover feeling. I appreciate the way you help to rationalize the positive in slip ups but I do hope to not slip. My first milestone is short 30 days and work from there I believe baby steps is best for me. Thanks again your Awsome..😎😎

I appreciate you hanging out with me in the comments, thanks for keeping me company! Sitting here sipping on Chamomile tea, wondering what my next 24 hours are going to be like. Congrats on day 6, and what do you have planned for day 7? A whole peanut butter pie???

I started buying orange cream sodas in the bottles and it really helps my logic is a orange soda isn't gonna convince me to drink more than one haha
@GettingSoberAgain3 жыл бұрын
Sounds yummy!! How much sugar are we talking though? 1 soda typically has enough sugar to exceed the daily sugar allowance, but technically we aren't supposed to be consuming any sugars unless they come from fruit. I'm on a keto diet right now, so I have to watch my food choices very carefully :(....
@StarAthena163 жыл бұрын
@@GettingSoberAgain well it's has 40 ish grams of carbs and the beer I like has way more sugars and unhealthy things I'd probably drink 3 of those beers but orange soda doesn't convince me to have another right after one haha. I don't believe in diets I just make sure I do everything in moderation.

My drinking sessions we're about 10 hours long if I was drinking
@greatspottedwoodpeck Жыл бұрын
One drink per hour? No 'drunk' drinks that little. A typical drunk would have three pints (half-litres) in the first hour, and probably seven inside three hours.
