Amanda, i met you briefly sfter your talk at the WRTR. My pup has been wearing her Frank button ever since. She looks like a little Frank fan girl. Lol. I have been wo dering how you have been doing with all of the people who wants to meet you. It was stressful for me just waiting in line to say hello. I would much rather be able to sit by a fire and enjoy a sunset. My days volunteering are hecktic and i come back and decompress. I must say i have the greatest spot at the adult games tent where we get to actually sit and talk. I so wished you would a have a plesant experience here so that Az. Would leave you good memories. This is a beautiful wonderous state. Go to Sedona after leaving here and check out more trees and beautiful hikes in the red rocks. It can be a little crowded in town but you can camp well away from people. I hope we get to touch base once more before you leave. I have a small token to give for your bravery in coming to Quartzite. I keep missing you at the rtr i guess because I do the 11 to 3 shift and you are there early morning. Bless you for all you do. Loved the video and your honesty. Hope to see you down the road. I did see Truck in the parking lot and was excited because i am a fan of your vehicle as well. I remember when you got a new engine and i was so worried Truck might get replaced. Im weird but i love my vehicles too and get attached. Ok, weirdo out. 👋

Just watched your talk on safety at WRTR on the Butterly lady’s channel. Wish we heard more from you as you have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share. But you did amazing with the talk for a first time public talk. I just love how self reliant you are with being able to get out of bad situations on your own and feel that’s important for any traveler and such an inspiration to solo women travelers. That’s a subtle thing you just pick up watching your channel over a period of time. I love your beautiful camp ups, exploring the area on hikes and cooking segments. I am staying at a rv park close to the RTR. I went Saturday and Sunday. I was hoping to perhaps run into you but it didn't happen. I did see your van. I had a good time at RTR. I got to meet Bob so that was fun. And I got stickers. And the corn dogs were delicious. Q is definitely something you have to get acclimated to. I am 50-80 steps from a hot shower, laundry and garbage bins so I like it. This rv park is extremely quiet.

If you want a really nice RV park go to River sands over in Ehrenberg, its all new, pool, hot tub, grass dog park, laundry, showers, store across street, pickle ball, perfect wifi etc. With passport America or their other deals its cheaper than the dirt lot rv parks in Quartzsite. Ive already been to Plamosa rd and Roadrunner. I can only take 3-4 days out there lol

It was detrimental to my mental health to constantly try to meet other peoples expectations of what’s “ healthy” and as soon as I slowed down my overall well-being improved. I still struggle with people saying “ it’s good for you to push yourself, it’s character building,it’s necessary for growth”. May be true when appropriate when I feel strong enough energetically, physically to do so. Pausing to determine this is key. On the flip, I don’t tell social people “ you should sit with yourself more, it’s good for you and your personal growth”. It’s so subjective. As a child, I used to put myself to bed or go to my bedroom even during my own bday parties. That just about sums it up.

I was born in Phoenix, AZ, and forever grateful to my parents for moving us out of that hell-hole when I was two, to the Oregon Coast. I like going to Q in December for the warm and services, but also always tap out by early afternoon if I go into town. There is a dump north of town, but only open Sun-Wed (I think). Gonna try the squash ravioli and chimi.

​@@tidelinetoalpineanother good charging drive is south to King road, blm bordering the national wildlife refuge. It is not rocky, relatively quiet, and a couple weeks ago I saw a bobcat. Good for just a wander hike, just avoid the cholla. I'm from MI and it's cool to see such different biodiversity in the desert. Anyway King road also has good cell service because it's close to the border control station (not often open and only if you are heading north from Yuma). My favorite spot in AZ is Gunsight wash south of Ajo, AZ

Amanda- there is a refuse dump on highway 95 on the right hand side past the radio tower, open Sun - Wed ?- 2pm? as you go into Q, There is also a place to get good water at the "Pit Stop" on the left side about an 1/8 of a mile into Q . And If you go to the main intersection and turn left 1/8 mile on the right is my favorite place for laundry and shower, and across the street is the Roadrunner Grocery store. 🐾 I am so pleased to have had the chance to meet you, take care , and thank you for sharing your life and adventures with all of us❣

Enjoy the Arizona winter sun, Amanda! When I'm down there, I like to spend a couple weekends at the Arizona Renaissance Faire with some family members that work there. I really enjoy camping in the evenings and socializing with the performers. I look forward to it every year. But the RTR is already over by that time. I'd like to get there earlier. Maybe next year!

I too prefer to be farther out and away from the crowd but there are just times it doesn’t work out. Pooping in a bucket it a bag works perfectly fine. You can even get a very light plastic toilet seat to put on the bucket. I actually have a 5 gallon bucket and then a 3 gallon bucket that I stack on the 5 gallon so the height is comfortable. I store all bathroom products in the bottom section. You can even get a soft lid seat for the top and use it as a seat when not using as a potty. So much easier than trying to time pooping with privacy. Super light weight and super easy. Just bag it and throw away. I always say that my toilet is way cleaner than a porta-potty and certainly less smelly.

I was wondering why I seen you on Plomosa Rd. I figured you'd be off in a corner somewhere hiding. 😂 I was gonna stop & say Hi on my dirt bike. KOFA Wildlife Refuge just South of town might be more your scenery. I was thinking about checking that out myself. I'd be up for some hiking.

The Transfer Station along Hwy 95 between Plomosa and downtown is free, open Sun-Wed. then on the left before you get to town is a good water station. Easy parking.
