Hi Lauren, I don't have an assumption however I do have a genuine question about body positivity and health at every size, I’m hoping you can provide me with some guidance. BEFORE I ASK- just wanted to thank you for sharing your life with your followers. I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now. So happy you are back. I love your personality! Your videos are just so authentic and just real life. Your mom is a G! I believe people should love themselves, their bodies and that one’s size should not be a factor in how they are treated. I understand that the negative thoughts of diet culture is so ingrained in our day to day thinking/life we don’t even recognize it. I believe weight related health issues require real environmental, cultural and social changes along with better government regulations on what is considered “food.” Statically diets don’t work, but I am a firm believer that small lifestyle changes over a longer period of time can improve health. Personal back story, everyone in my immediate family is morbidly obese with health issues, and I consistently worry about them making lifestyle changes. So here’s my inquiry, I’m confused by the health at every size movement. No one is a statistic however medically individuals who are both extremely under/overweight are at greater risk of health complications. I understand being overweight/underweight and being healthy but does health at every size exist in the extremes? If our bodies are too skinny or too heavy to even walk, isn’t this assertion dangerous? Or is the movement not inclusive of extremes? Perhaps it is more about our mental health at every size? Sorry for being long winded but I figured if anyone could make sense of it to me, it would be you. Thanks!!!

Hi Lauren! I empathize with you so much, as I feel like I have been on a similar path. A year ago all I could focus on was losing weight and getting back to a certain size. Then my 14 year relationship ended rather unexpectedly, and slowly that all went away and feel the happiest with my body and self I’ve been. Every Sunday and Wednesday now I’m super excited to watch your videos :) also I wanted to say thank you, thank you for saying what you said about losing weight, that people think that once you loose weight or be slim that you’ll be happy that it’s not true, i just wished I knew this 2 years ago. I started loosing weight two years ago and convinced myself that once i got to a certain weight I would be happy, but I wasn’t. I wanted to loose more and I did, but two years later and 75 lbs lighter I’m still very unhappy, I thought it would solve all my problems but what I didn’t realise was I needed to sort the problems on the inside before I couldn’t fix what was on the outside. I’m currently going through therapy and I’m proud to say that is helping, I’m not totally out of the woods yet but I can see the exit and I’m making my way towards it. I just wanted to say thank you for being real with us, I’ve been a long time viewer and when you came back I was so excited because I feed off your positive energy and it makes me positive too, I no longer hate looking in the mirror but I do stand there now every day and tell myself what I love about my body. Great video! And I apologies for the long comment but I’m just so happy to watch your randomness again :) keep it up 💪🍑 x

Love you Lauren. Great video! I hope your healing is progressing. I have to admit that it bothered me when you mention body positivity the first time. I agree that NO ONE should be on a diet and obsessing about it. But this is not news. I also agree that you should Love your body no matter what. I must say, I hate the term “body positivity”. It’s not a new thing, it a new obsession. I always loved myself “fluffy”, until I didn’t. And now I want to lose weight and gain more life. What I mean is: I want to be an avid hiker. And unfortunately my weight slows me down. So, I decided to change. I say #loveyourself and be positive on your life, not your body. We women should Embrace ourselves as we are and love every inch of it. We don’t need a label to say that nor a hashtag to confirm that. We should be more Supportive on social media to each other. I have friends who are big and small And they are happy as they are. It should be simple. We don’t need to explain why we want to be slender Or bigger. We should Just embrace ourselves. 🥰❤️😊
