I never get PR. I've had one makeup box sent and that's it. I've only had offers for hearings aids, to review video games ( video games? Please) and marital sexual aids. Makeup? Forget it. But I am almost 70 so I think when you get past 65 they just don't offer it to us. I mean there are a few in their 60's that get PR but those are ones that have high subscriber count. It does get discouraging and expensive. You look beautiful and thank you for doing this and calling attention to it. I do sometimes feel a little jealous of the younger ones that get things sent. Turn a "certain age" & society wants us to disappear [and do so QUIETLY!!] When will they realize WE are the ones with the most disposable income?? Our children are grown & hopefully have moved out!! And we have the most time on our hands with only us & hubby at home!! They're truly missing the boat & BILLIONS in revenue from us if only they woke up!! 🤠

This was wonderful to watch!! A PR opening would be a wonderful way to do smaller videos for IG, if you did them one at a time, and since most people do them without showing their faces, you wouldn't even have to put on makeup if you didn't want to!! You could open several at a time on your bed even for a KZbin video. I personally love watching PR hauls. I think its a great way to thank the companies, just like you are doing here. I miss seeing them so much. Most don't bother anymore.

This is a master class in how to discuss PR. So many creators have a difficult time discussing and presenting their PR in a grateful and humbled way. I am sure many of them don't mean to come across as bratty but so many of them do. Sharing and discussing PR should be intentional and thoughtful. This is a lovely example of that. Thanks for that. Melissa what a beautiful video! From the heart and genuine ❤ There are a couple of KZbinrs with a gazillion subscribers that I used to watch, that would often do “unboxing PR” Videos and it was like it was a race to see how many boxes could be ripped open and the products tipped out with barely a mention. I can remember thinking that if I was a cosmetics company the would be the last people I would be giving my products away to. But it actually deinfluenced me I didn’t want to buy anything from a company that was only interested in giving their products out to people with the biggest subs in hopes for big sales and profits. If they didn’t respect and value their own products were they even as good as they were saying they were?? I couldn’t stomach those types of videos anymore and unsubed. These companies that sent you their products should be so grateful to you! For your gratitude but also for the care and respect that you showed their products. And they should be looking to your peers who I believe would be similar to you, and as honest as you. BUT more than that I read a report somewhere sometime ago saying that many companies are forgetting that a lot of older and retired women are the ones with the disposable income to be spending on cosmetics and luxuries. I am not one of those women!! 😂😂😂 But I would imagine there is some merit?

I've gotten a few offers of PR from established companies so far, and my channel is thus far tiny. I am age 59. I do think that companies with appropriate products would do well to focus more on mature customers, since it seems that especially if people find products they like, they are more likely to stick with them rather than moving on to the newest thing. ❤

I have about 1400 subscribers, little by little, I’m getting there, and it saddens me that we don’t get the acknowledgement that we deserve. We have sooo much knowledge & experience to share, and to be treated like we don’t matter or that we’re not important or don’t have anything to add to this genre is ridiculous and untrue. Companies should realize that the older broads usually have deeper pockets than the younger crowd. Maybe it'd be a good idea to send products to the mature yt channels.

Ive been wanting the Colorpop Stone Cold Fox but with the exchange rate and shipping, it's just not worth it. Mélissa I've been watching you for awhile now as you were one of the first people I subscribed to and don't understand why you wouldn't get more pr. Firstly, we spend more money on skincare and cosmetics and look at the number of your subscribers. I personally find some younger influencers just jump trend to trend, "can't live without" whatever they are sponsoring that week and they really don't know much about their products

It's unfortunate that there are skincare and makeup companies catering to the younger crowd, but not surprising. I'd like to see 💯 equality for women on every level between now and the end of my lifetime. I don't think that will happen though. 😢

I seem to be the only one that feels this way, but it seems like the sole purpose here is to kiss up to companies that give you free products. I wish companies didn't give anyone free products. I think prices would be lower.

I'm sure you're right about prices. But for them, it's looked at as their advertising. Instead of having to spend money on TV or radio commercials. But when companies put on these elaborate trips & parties, it's excessive.

I’m on board to boycott agist companies. I use Dior, Chanel, YSL, etc because I’m old enough to do that. Most 20 something’s can’t do that so we should be their demographic.

Melissa you’re such a kind soul for doing this video, I don’t think I’ve Ever watched another influencer give a Shoutout to the companies who send them PR products, I sort of disagree with you about the lack of PR sent to mature influencers because I find it’s the Big influencers with a Huge following that get sent PR products, you only have to look at Angie from Hot and Flashy, she gets a ton of PR and she’s older than you, I think companies should look after the smaller KZbinrs, because those are the ones like yourself that I prefer to watch, You Deserve All The PR That Is Given To You And More, just my humble opinion for what it’s worth.
