Maybe the best mold in my arsenal as far as fish catching goes. Wasn't planning on a video, but just had to share. Tight lines and I hope you enjoy.

My step dad used to do this also. Made his own worms, and slugs too. He's been gone 15 years, and I’m still using them lol. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool. He must’ve really been into fishing to have worm molds and lead molds. What species do you target primarily? Thanks for letting me share.

@@prospectoroutdoors Bass is always my goal, but I seem to catch Sunfish the most. Lol. My step dad was a tournament fisherman. He lived fishing every day. I still have most of his stuff. Gave a lot away. I think of him every time I smell rubber worms. Lol.

Right on. The sunfish must be giants going after a bass lure. I am just learning how to target bass myself. I am just branching out from trout fishing and have a ton to learn. Take care!

Very good video, hoping to start making some round jig heads . Doing research on the process, in NH we can not use lead. Thanks again.

People are strange. I can’t stand waiting on a wishy washy person who can’t make a decision. Makes me want to pull my hair out when a deal swims by like that. 😂 What part of the country are you from? Thanks for watching the videos. I hope that you can find another great deal very soon.

You don't know , but he did you a favor. Trust me it's not all it's cracked up to be. You can take every precaution you think is safe from being exposed to lead than you find out you have lead poison.

Sounds good. I will have to get my fluid bed out and get some done. Thanks for all of your support! If I ever get down your way, I can’t wait to get into the fish with you. At the least, we could break some bread at a nice restaurant. Fishing for largemouth bass as I write this. Should have a video out tomorrow sometime. Tight lines!

Great. I've always struggled to find small heads with big hook gaps. Really gotta watch that mold gap. Any screw ups and just start over and remelt with no waste I guess. Great advantage to DIY. Like to see your powder coating process.

It’s definitely easier to not make mistakes. If you do have a flash, you can just melt the lead off. It can be a pain though if it gets in the eye of the hook. I will try and film when I do the paint process. Sure enjoyed your latest video!

@@prospectoroutdoors Just got it. I troll with a Jakes. I think the cutts were colorado river strain but don't quote me on that. That white jig was with me by accident. I didn't plan on fishing that lake but it was so close by it was too hard to pass up. I had the crawdad in my truck an hour away or I would have went and got it.😢

I have modded most of my 1/80 -1/8 molds to accept 3-4 or up to 5 different size hooks.Without going out to look I think I can do up to 1/0 in the 1/16 mold.........oh wait,no it's only up to #2 but it can be modded to use up to 1/0,It'll just invade the preheat cavity. I sent a FB message,think it's you.I can show you a few pics of what I meant in the other vid and the simple mod I have made to these molds to allow other hook sizes. I was mentioning continuously pouring one sprue in your egg vid.You almost do it here,you get a few to come out together.If you just contiguously pour so they all are link via the sprue they'll come out very easy.Then let them set till they cool enough to hold by hand you can then hold them down on the table top and take your other hand and grab one of the jigs by the head,not the hook,and wiggle it and it'll come off the sprue.This speeds up production also.
@prospectoroutdoors
@prospectoroutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree on the continuous poor being easier to take the jigs off of the sprue. For the video, I might have been a little more precise than I usually am. I also like putting a bigger sprue into the pot rather than one at a time. Much safer with splashing.
@rider660r
@rider660r 2 жыл бұрын
@@prospectoroutdoors No big deal,you have it down pretty well. I forgot about that benefit of no splashing. When I get singles,I'll just lay them aside and put them in the pot after I'm done and it has solidified on top,ready to melt the next time.
