I’m a lash artist creating content for our salon new hires. This is really good materials especially coming from someone that knows the science behind the eyes! THANK YOU. The lash industry have been dying to have doctors to do keep a dive into our adhesives. At the end of the day are just aestheticians, not doctors... we have limited education and resources in terms of the science behind the making of the adhesives. In the industry Right now adhesives are our #1 concern. We’re loosing clients left and right because people have become so sensitive over time.
@DrRupaWong3 жыл бұрын
YES! And that's the thing, you can develop a sensitivity/allergy even after months of using the adhesive without issue. I hope the industry creates some better alternatives.

Hi there! Future Esthetician and hopefully future Nurse after completing esthetician school! I find this video so insightful and love your take on the reality of lash extensions but giving the tips of the SAFE ways to go about this process. Taking breaks is a necessity - clients who go every 2 weeks for a year will ruin their lashes regardless due to excessive wear and tear. It just happens with them - there are so many external factors in which play a part. But it is also about the type of client and being a good candidate (understanding your sensitivities, cleansing, taking proper care, and taking breaks). Giving your lashes breaks between sets even if you do fills for a few months, is again so necessary in maintaining the integrity of your natural lashes. The problem with our industry is no one tells you this for A. More Money or B. They simply do not know. That is the sad truth. So unless we are educating our clients, they won't understand and we will have to face into the dilemma with them when their lashes are no longer full and healthy naturally. Taking a good 3 month break with daily lash serum and then getting a full set with refills every two weeks with proper cleansing can leave the lashes continuously looking healthy. They get you addicted to that look and that is what sells! This is why it is important as a lash artist to offer other types of services for when that client wants to take a break and do something more natural with their lashes for awhile. Tinting is a great alternative to extensions and is waaaay less harsh chemically on the lashes themselves and gives a soft look for a few weeks without the use of mascara (which can also cause fallout and irritation). So you just have to be careful and know your stuff! :) Thanks again for being an awesome doctor! I look up to female medical leaders like you!

I always say, why put something fake on your natural body, when You can just take care of what You have. I like to keep life simple and beauty doesn’t have to be painful or that expensive, nature has given us all we need to take care. we just have lost ourselves and allowed society to manipulate us on what is beautiful and what’s not.

I'm a lash stylist that was trained via Xtreme Lashes. Thankfully, the training program instructed me how to measure specific areas of the eye in order to know what extension lengths & diameters are acceptable to apply to clients. Along with that area of training, we also had to demonstrate the cleansing process in order to receive our certification. Those 2 areas of lash artistry are so important. Thank you so much for providing a detailed explanation to non-lash artists the importance of both areas.. especially the cleaning.

Well met Dr Wong! I have listened to Dr. Dray for the last few years who as you know is very conservative and I refuse to spend a fortune on skin care perhaps because i've lived in France where less is more and no-one will tell you their secret recipe for food or how they fool the world ... I also swim but in a swimming pool and my lashes used to be very long but I am 66 and not dead yet and so use waterproof mascara which is a pain. I met someone who has extensions that look totally natural so ... by the way watched the entire video and subscribed and I blame Covid 19 for my reduced attention span ... an actual book in my hand is a gift and I got rid of my tv and netflix (amazon prime last thing to go)/ My lashes are shorter because of age; I inherited my Dad's eyebrows and touch them up a bit but ... I get the allergy aspect and am willing to pay more money for someone who knows what they are doing mostly because I am in love which is a very enjoyable form of temporary insanity which may lead to lasting friendship but it is also true that we all put on the faces to meet the faces we meet to quote TS Eliot a fact of life. Intimacy and letting oneself be vulnerable is terrifying. He already knows what I look like ... so many people struggle with how we are perceived and you are obviously drop dead gorgeous and I just wonder why we torment ourslelves (lost my reading glasses:_ Hope this resonates with one of your viewers .... and meanwhile tx!!!!!

Hello, I'm 46 yrs of age & I found out in 2012 that I have 2 different types of alopecia which you can't tell due to still having a head of full hair & been taking bition & other vitimans for years, however the alopecia did affect my eyebrows which are permanently done by a professional. I started getting eyelash extensions about 2yrs ago bc my real lashes stopped extending real long like they use to when applying mascara & are very sparse/thin. When getting my eyelash extensions I can't always get the look I want due to them being so sparse, so I apply mascara on my extensions to extend my lashes & give me the look I like. Sometimes the lash artist does a better job on my lashes & sometimes not so good & that's annoying. I recently started back up on lash serum, but they say once you use it that you always have to. Please advise any would be greatly appreciated.

Try eating according to scripture. No cheese (do not boil a calf(rennet) in it's mother's milk= cheese is against scripture), no fish without scales fins, no eggs unless the mother was allowed to live ( do not take the bird and the dam aka eggs, so you can live a long life). And here is my advice no gluten (commercial bread is made out of Chinese hair and other toxic things). I was loosing my bottom teeth, once I stopped eating bread and gluten in general, my bottom teeth started to grow back aka remineralize till this day. I'm certain teeth and hair are connected somehow. Anywaysl sure enough a study was done on the aboriginals in 1970s or so and stated that the aboriginals started losing their teeth when put on a "white man's diet" of white flour and white sugar. The most important step is to ask YAHUAH ( you can look up His name, it is the original name of the Almighty from the bible- Hebrew) to heal you. All this and more was only possible because I did just this. If He wills, He will cure you of things you didn't even know were connected or falling apart. This is thee most important step. Hospitals etc. will not tell nor heal you they work in hand with those who run the food/agricultural system. The food and water is killing people. There is so much more but I leave it here. Ask YAHUAH to heal you.
