Just a tip. I think its better to fill up the bath first, usually luke warm tempature because most cats actually dont mind water to much if you ease them into it and dont spray them with it

I had a Maine Coon and he loved the water. We couldn’t keep him out of the bathroom anytime anyone ran water in the tub. He’d get the door open and dive in and float around trilling.

I think it's both lol, they maybe don't mind the water itself, but don't like the noise and suddenness of the spray. I'm no expert though. But they're beautiful cats, both of them. ❤

Tipp: Cats actually don't like running water because it's loud and it might freak them out so it's best when you give them a nice warm bath and try to keep the water low so that they can actually get used to it, hope this helps! (Information from: ladyscuddlesmeow)

I as a cat dad to two rescues; Smokey is a tabby cat and absolutely loves water. And he’ll only drink running water from the tap, either the kitchen sink or the bathtub. Then, there’s Pepper, a domestic shorthair, who despises water. If I’m washing dishes, and she’s near the kitchen sink and a drop of water gets on her, she runs as if a pit bull was chasing her. I think it all boils down to each cat’s personal preference.

if you put a towel on the ground when you give your cat a bath it gives them something to grab on to and will make them feel more secure(yes your towel is gonna be soaked who cares?)

My Maine Coon loved water. His water bowl got played in Splash Splash. Also played in the toilet bowl, put his toys in there. So I got a new litter box and set it up on the enclosed porch with an inch or two of water. He was SO happy 😀

I heard that cats actually hate running water cause they have like 32 muscles in their ear so they can hear the sound of running water like very loudly so it scares them so maybe a fill up a tub full of water and let them get used to it like put them in the tub and pour some little water on them so that they get used to it and after they get used to it use the shower little by little

You have to start bathing them from a kitten and stay consistent, like once a month and twice a month if you live around anyone with allergies to dander. However, since you didn’t do it that way, if you still continue to have them groomed or bathe them yourself consistently once a month, they will grow to accept it as routine.
