Amazing creators in the early 2000's helped, but another major factor was the founding members of the Images first generation breaking apart so quickly (jim lee and todd macfarland) forcing Image to go from being superhero centric company to being more well rounded. That was huge, because it introduced many Image supporters to non superhero stories, witch probably then lead them to gravitate to other companies non superhero stories. Even though D.C. and Marvel are heads and shoulders above everyone else, the more balanced industry as a whole was/is far healthier witch helps every genre

Continuity is a sticky issue. If you get it wrong it ruined everything, if you get it right it makes everything better. And in my opinion to many creators try to hard to make all their universes in continuity, and a good balance is obtained by not creating content that is meant to always tie into something else, because forcing nothing is good and all things should comes together naturally, as often not all events have a finite time and with time things can be slotted into a proper place, and a place that fits them better instead of instantly jamming your stories into a finite spot.

Eating Comics - lol ... Sean could have gone either way with it (give or get) but that probably was the best way to go (buffet) but Tyler got the drum kick .... because not every book is eadable... lol

Great discussion, I do think that there is a format change coming but I am not sure when it will hit the big 2.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. What do you think the new format will be?
@Goblingraphx6 ай бұрын
@@TheComicsPals I think it will be a format that could be direct to customer or something that has better shelf life for bookstores and retail stores. I think the real money is made in trades and Omnibuses.

Agree that passerbys are important. Dan Didio said floppies were crucial as they got a captive audience into market every week. Unique as its not achievable weekly with even a Stephen King novel. Interestingly though, Jadzia Axelrod said any further Hawkgirl issues would depend upon the trade sales, not floppies. Digital helps combat piracy problems but the appeal of owning physical media is still strong.

The appeal is very strong, especially for an audience conditioned to want it that way.

a lot of films get filmed that "never got filmed" I can't find the footage on Ben Affleck fighting Death-Stroke but It was online for a month or so. Batman was getting the buissness from a Death-Stroke fighting like a Ninja-Turtle.

Interesting. I vaguely remember reading about something like that a while ago. Hope it resurfaces!
