Do missing hand rails ruin this model? | Iron Horse Weekly ep21

we're playing with Dapol's class 68 - it's hand rails are missing, but is that an issue?...

Hi Craig Well at last yuo have a loco you like, the 68's are awesome machines and the Dapol model is a very good representation of it, sounds great too (lots of play value there, lol),. I knew you could do it, keep the faith, build cardboard kits that is, that Metcalfe one has come out brilliantly. The overall layout is looking really good now, lots of fun and enjoyment to be had over the Christmas period I think. Happy shunting!

Hi Craig, 68s are lovely loco’s I’ve got a couple with sound the metcalfe kits are easy to build and good value you have placed your dormer window to high the ridge shouldn’t be higher than the ridge on the main roof cheers Al

Hi Craig. Lovely looking loco. So, all 4 wheels have pickups. Don't you mean all 8? You've done a good job with the Metcalfe structure. If you had scribed in between the brickwork using a metal ruler and an empty ball point pen or similar object with a smooth point, you could have made the bricks stand out and look more authentic. Something to think about for a future build. Now, in between the two houses, how about a funeral parlour (Craig's Cremations perhaps)? 😂😂 All in all, your layout is coming together nicely Craig. It will be interesting to see how the lampposts look when illuminated. Look forward to seeing you next Thursday me ol' mucker. Paul. 👍 P.S. i thought there was a cut off point for the dapol fitting service back in august i had my tpe one sent off to dapol for it and i compared my older dapol class 68 direct rail livery and the handrails are abit different
