I have had 6 Dobermans and many other rescues through the years. I adopted my current doberman Mali from a rescue when she was 10 months old. What a challenge! She was fearful and constantly on alert. Thankfully she is very food oriented and that helped a lot with training. She is now 4 years old and once in a while she does regress when something changes in the household. Good luck with your new dobie. Thank you for all you do.

I would think when the dogs that tended to bully him a bit come out and there are 20 some dogs they've never met bullying him will not be their focus at all. He looks so happy and free! How wonderful for him to belong.

They need love, time, play attention, walkies, the whole shebang. And if your not up to it.,you,re the wrong person for that doggoe. Dogs are for life, not just for COVID. 😢😢

You though in my heart , are the expert dog whisperer and have a sense of the dogs' personalities and can feel and sense their weaknesses and strengths and draw attention to whats best. He’s definitely HYPER 😮. I’ve had 6 Dobie’s over my 70 years and not one was that hyper. Glad you have the room where he can burn off a lot of that energy! I only had 40 acres ........but none needed more than 3 acres to play on. Good Luck ! I hope he doesn’t tear up any furniture or dog beds while in for the night.

What a handsome dog! I think Murphy will thrive. It makes a huge difference whether or not a Doberman gets enough exercise. Being such an athletic and intelligent breed it is so important to allow them to stretch their legs and provide the mental stimulation they need on a daily basis. My neighbours used to have a Doberman and it was the biggest baby ever. The youngest would ride him like a pony. My cat would sun herself on their driveway, and when he was let out, he would come tearing around the corner of the house, and I swear he would leave skid marks when he saw my cat. He would turn tail and run away as fast as he could. He would also put his paws on my shoulders and dance with me when I brought him treats. He was wonderful.

Such a good idea introducing him first. Fingers crossed it gives him enough high social standing with the other ones he came in with so that the existing pack don't even need to protect him. So wonderful to see them accepting him readily.

It looks like Murphy can outrun the pack! I thought fixed, male dogs shouldn't mix with intact, male dogs. Many years ago, my family had an intact, male Beagle who picked fights with most dogs. Great video!
