I can fit 8 foot long 2x4s (lumber) in the car with the front seat folded back and the rear seat folded down, wheel well to hatch back. This car has more usable room inside than many full sized suv. I am original owner of an '08 Fit Sport with manual transmission. Solved the armrest problem as soon as I bought the car with an aftermarket one from eBay, which is still in the car. I have 135,000 mi, and changed the clutch at 125,000. I left the car stock, and beat the hell out of it. It's bulletproof mechanically, but the plastic parts are cheap, and break. I'm waiting for a Mazda MX5 RF 100 year anniversary 6 speed manual to arrive from Japan, but I'm keeping my Fit. It owes me nothing, and will go way past 300,000 mi. It's still a blast to drive. Yeah, slow car fast; just got to know how to squeeze the most out of that 7200 rpm red line.

I have an 07 Honda fit works great haven’t had too many issues with it it’s coming up to 400,000 kms now. The only major repairs new struts and shocks new AC compressor because the clutch went so I changed the unit out. Ignition coils. Ignition cylinder finally wore out. Just took it out and remove the tumblers and the springs.Works great that way you can remove the key and lock the doors and leave it run. There’s still a chip in the key so nobody can start it with a screwdriver so it works for me. I think I’m on my third set of front brake pads just change the calipers out on the front and the rear brakes are original. Thank God for rear drum brakes no disk for me on the back too many issues. And I change the intermediate pipe recently because it finally rotted out. One battery one alternator starter still works great.Unusual tires and oil changes. i follow the maintenance minder hasn’t let me down yet. I guess I’ve done a fair bit of work to it but it’s also got 400,000 km on it how many cars last that long.

I have a 2007 Honda Fit Sport that I purchased with 22K miles. I now have 117K miles and the only thing I have had major repair on was the AC unit ($1500). The clutches on these vehicles last a long time if they are properly adjusted and you use them properly. With the 2007, leaks develop in the rear where the hatchback hinge swivels, allowing rain water to drain of all places in the spare tire well and slosh into the back seat floor. There is at least one KZbin video on how to fix this problem but it is to simply to apply fresh silicone seal near the hinges where the roof meets the side panels. Beforre this car, I had a 1990 Honda Civic wagon with the same power train (1500 cc engine and 5 speed manual) . I purchased the car in Chicago with 204K miles on it and I drove it until I sold it to my friend's son with 280K miles. The power train never needed any work but the body did rust out due to the salt use in Chicago. My current Fit is located in Tampa FL and rust is not a problem here.

When I met my girlfriend 5 years ago she had a Honda Fit. It was a CVT, had a reedy little 1.3L engine and looked kind of dumpy like a van. I wrote it off then. 5 years and two kids later I'm finally looking to get a 1.5 Sport for myself. I like the way small cars drive and realistically there's nothing more practical than a Honda Fit with the way the magic seats can be configured. They are also set up firm enough from the factory that they are basically a wheel and tyre swap away from having extremely nimble handling. Their servicing is a little bit more expensive but we have had zero unexpected fixes over 100,000kms. Fuel economy is a 6.8L/100km average for the 1.5 my parents now run and the 1.3 struggles to go above 6.5L/100kms even in Town. This little car won me over in a big way.

I got mine last March used from the dealer. It's the sport edition so I already had to replace the clutch plate and flywheel. Also had a replace the front stabilizers. But that's all I've done. It's around 125,000 miles and seems like it's going to be going a lot more. It is kind of hard to find the parts for it at times such as the air filter or any body replacement parts but hauling a 75 in Samsung in the back as well as my old lady stove, really sold me on a hatchback. And holy s***, I can see everything from any angle. I cannot drive other cars as well now because I feel like I'm stifled with the small ass back windows. The car gets me some flack from people who don't know but I wouldn't give up this space for anything

I did tie rod ends, stabilizer links, but that was at like 186k , and it was because our roads suck. Also did pads and rotors and calipers, didn't have a problem finding parts . The first gens had their fair share of problems. I have a second gen (13) and it is my first car. The biggest (and only) problem I’ve had so far is the right front caliper seized up and dug a groove in the rotor. I was already planning on replacing the rotors and pads anyway so I already had the replacements. Honda put them on with a new caliper, cost around $350. Though that can happen to any vehicle, the caliper retained too much fluid. It’s a very reliable car, I mean, it is a Honda of course 😉

Changed jobs and it became my commuter. 114K miles later and I still love it. No mods at all, but Like you said, “it’s slow car fast.” Short wheelbase whips around like a go cart and I drive it like I stole it every day. Had a warranty service on a pilot bearing at 30K, but I think I’m still on the original clutch. Rev match downshifts, heel toe corners, and neutral at the red lights and it has lasted forever. I have a first gen 2007 Honda Fit with a manual transmission and am the original owner. It currently has 138,000 kms. It's been a great car but have had a couple of issues. Clutch crapped out at 80,000 kms and original battery didn't last that long. I'm very surprised that not many people have mentioned about how bad the 2007 & 2008's leak!! Vapor barriers in both back doors fail and the two back footwells are always wet. Also, the spare tire wheel well fills up with water, which enters from the roof after the sealant goes bad. Other than that, I love the car and will drive it into the ground!!
@coreyang083 жыл бұрын
Same year Fit as yours, automatic and when it rains... the next day you could hear water splashing around in the spare tire wheel well. I believe it was improperly welded at the seam from the get-go for the 07 models and since it's not really considered a safety issue, Honda never bothered doing a recall on it. I use clear sealant to seal up the visible crack lines and let it cure overnight and that kept rain water out since two yrs ago.

My 07 Fit Sport 5-speed now has 316k. Yes, slow car fast, but once the vtec kicks in around 3400 rpm at 70 mph, it just wants to run, and sounds great doing it. Now I'm looking for a 2012-13 to eventually take its place.

Got a call from a sheriff outside minneapolis about an old guy in a small blue honda. Pulled him over on suspicion of dwi. It was my 91 yr old father in law who will no longer be driving. He's safe at his home now although he doesnt know it. Point is i suddenly find myself driving this Honda Fit after dark, guage on "E", no station for many miles, windows and headlights caked with road salt, and i needed to get it home. Did i mention im 6'4"? It was a blast to drive other than my white nuckles to find a pump. Wife and i had planned to shop Subarus. But i had plenty of leg room in the Fit and the guage read 40.1mpg. Why not!

I have a 2010 sport and it did that last winter for a while after I got some recall fixes. I gave the dealers a hard time about it. It seems to have gone away so I attribute it to cold weather. It did it only at the first start up of the day.

I bought a used 2008 fit last week. Sometimes I get the squeal but only after the vehicle has been off for a while (like in the morning for example). it does this most times, but not always. I have not looked into it yet, so I'm not sure how serious it is.

Bought a 2007 Fit sport two years ago with 78K miles and it has the same squeal you are talking about, lasts for a second or two and goes away. I believe it has something to do with the starter and I might just look into it and either replace the worn part inside the starter or just replace with a new one and get it done and over with. Other than that.. it's a great reliable little compact car and extremely good on gas!

Some fits do come with a center console, aftermarket parts are not huge to choose from for this model of Fit. They only really sell just axel back exhaust for this not the entire catback exhaust, I only seen one company that makes an entire exhaust system for this model. Coilovers are almost non existent and lowering springs are slim pickings. They are nice just the way they are and you can also upgrade your battery to a 51R which would be a tight fit (no pun intended). It is very roomy for its size and a decent car to own.

So... Your complaint is that a compact car is compact? And your mechanical experience was changing the battery, which is pretty cheap at Honda. your Major complaints are a small glove box, only one pocket behind the back seat, and no center console? And this is supposed to be a must video before buying a Fit? Fail. Start driving Chrysler products, and you will become viral with all your complaints. 🤣

288,000+ miles on our 2007. We treat it like a pick up truck... when you let the seats down, you can haul a washing machine, a dryer, refrigerator, pallets of mulch and dirt, hay bales.... You name it.. gets great gas mileage. Only real complaint is, I have to keep change the spark plugs and coil packs about every 6 months. Maintenance on this thing is so easy a child can do it... Hands down this is the best car we have ever owned.. hopefully we get another 288000 miles out of it.

In my fits I’ve (with my dog) driven to Gettysburg down the east to Louisiana. We’ve driven to The Little Big Horn, The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone. We’ve driven the West Coast 16 times. There are other trips. We are able to do this because with a little hypermileing we can average 43 to 45 mpg. Oh... it doesn’t hurt that I can sleep in the back (diagonally) while my dog sleeps in the drivers seat. Our road trips are great.

150k miles has general problems like any car does. Honda’s in general are pretty reliable. If you’re buying from a dealer, ask them to do a checkup just in case before you buy. But I wouldn’t be worried at all

@@batuhangunes961 Check all the fluid levels for starters. Common problems or leaks can be hidden by keeping fluids to a minimum. IMO I would check the underneath for any rust. It's not going to be perfect, but if it looks pretty rusted out underneath you most likely will have small component start braking over time. Nothing that will break the bank but could add up over time. Most likely you will be find with your fit. Hopefully an older person previously owned it.

i was scared buying a used honda fit from a local dealer when i got it and driving it it does have some issues i do not like but that is small compared what i do like about the car. of course your looking at a small engine like a lawn mower engine. that is why the power of the car is not like the power of a v8 but the car does have enough power i do enjoy. it is sad though that cars built well will be less sold in america or abroad. cause they do not want something to last. i do love my honda fit and the things i can do with. i will probably get another one after this one breaks down.
