I purchased a Sherp a few months ago and this video is about a lot of the nightmares I've dealt with ever since. Between not being able to reach anyone in Service to finding VELCRO as a main fastener for all the interior finishes, my dealings with SHERP have been utterly TERRIBLE. If your in the market for one of these for your business or personally, I would HIGHLY advise you keep on searching. I was sold like most of you on the capabilities by the videos SHERP posts. So I'm clear, I want to make sure you know that the capabilities are ridiculous. Ive had mine in and out of water, ice to water and back to ice, snow, steep grades and everything between and it performed great. My issues are mechanically and interior fit and finishes. To elaborate, I have 18 hours on my machine that I put on it (bought it brand new and it had 14 hours on it from the factory) ((testing and what not I'm sure)) and I already am having charging issues. My alternator is bad and since this machine is built in Ukraine, finding parts is a nightmare. Dont think your going down to your local Doosan dealer and getting whatever parts you need cause that's not going to happen. Dealing with SHERP North America has been a complete and total joke. They claim they will pay for the repairs and warranty work, they told me to hire my own mechanic (hilarious since no one knows how to work on these cause they wouldn't have any training). The heater is a total joke, they claim the machine is good to -40F but I'm here to tell you that fitted the way they send it, you would freeze to death. Velcro holding on the quilted pad lining the whole inside of the machine. Terrible Terrible Terrible fit and finish. I cannot stress that enough. Between that and trying to find parts to work on this thing, I would advise to STAY AWAY FROM SHERP! Especially based on how I have been treated. I paid $135,000 for my machine and the service department at Sherp North America won't even call me back to help fix my charging problem so currently my machine is inoperable.

I'm sure you have figured it out by now but if the basic vehicle is sound for the arctic conditions and when it breaks in the field you can repair it then it seems to me your best option is to push on through and sink even more money into the Sherp and upgrade the interior. Strip the entire factory interior and start with spray foam the interior walls, all new off road headlights, deus fasteners, huck bolt or threaded fasteners for the floor, off road folding seats, auxiliary cockpit and cabin heaters, integrated winches in both front and rear custom bumpers. Finding a quality custom fabricator who can do the work will be a tough job.

Sherp is such unique piece of machinery that they can ask over 100 grand and enough people still buy them. Because of its capability. You are most certainly right about its issues, but as long as there are no good rivals, they won't fix those annoyances.

Absolutely spot on! You are not in any way being over-critical in your review. In fact you could probably do an equal length follow up review and still not identify all the design flaws seen on this vehicle. As an engineer, I would be embarrassed to admit having any involvement in the design of this vehicle. I don't think it would even be worth attempting to rectify any of the interior issues such as 'poorly fitting panels' and 'hindered access' to essential maintenance areas. A complete redesign from the ground up, is the only way this embarrassment is going to achieve any sort of recognition in the 'Extreme All Terrain Vehicle market!? Very, very Poor!!

I've been looking for a moose buggy but after seeing the issues you've had I'll pass on the Sherp until the quality improves. Sad to shell out that kind of cash and have that many critical issues on a new machine. Hopefully the support has improved. Agree a thousand percent that you spend that kind of money why not have the little details tight. And a lot of these although they might seem little, no they're big. Jeez. Thank you for putting this out. Are there any new vehicles in development that look promising? Watched a few reviews comparing the fat truck vs sherp and there were some things that kinda unsold me on the fat truck. I've never been in either in person yet. Concept is great. Safety of floatation, goes places a wheeler can't. Roomy. Could sleep in if needed.

I have zero experience with the Sherp but having seen quite a few videos I would have had zero expectation about the quality of the finish. It seems totally utilitarian and I think the price should be assessed based on the value for the target application vs other possible options. Of course, if some things don't work per the spec (the heater perhaps) they need to be fixed and it always makes sense to send feedback for future improvements. If I were to buy something that specialized and that expensive I would personally fly to check it out/test it myself and match it against a very detailed assessment sheet criteria. This is how companies perform the selection and reception process of such equipments. This is very different from buying a car in my view. So I understand the frustration, but I fear you may not have proceeded the right way from a buying standpoint.

Thanks for the video. I've been fascinated with these since I saw one. Looking at yours critically gives the impression these are made in some guys's garage with parts sourced from West Marine and Home Depot. Those are the cheapest switches. The battery switch looks like someting out of a boat but looks like the cheap one. I would be beyond irritated with the fit and finish. It would be interesting to show what you can get for $135K vs. the Sherp. Also you may have a problem with the blower motor. I had that on a Jeep once. The blower would only blow on the lowest setting. Made me think the heater core was plugged. Sucks that you have to fix a new vehicle you paid that much money for but it may make things much more comfortable if you could just replace that fan.

Made in Kyiv Ukrain I’m sure the moment they bought the company off the creator a relatively cheap vehicle to make became impossible as I think most of the materials were sourced out of Russia which obviously around 2015 years hen the company was bought to make them for production things went way down hill for the Ukrain and just got worse for manufacturing good out of Russia but that’s a cost they should have prepared for or bad to eat for prices like they have

I was interested in purchasing a SHERP myself, but once I went to the dealer I noticed many of the issues you mentioned & decided no way, this thing reminds me of a knock off designer bag only it's not. You should contact corporate and really bug them because they most likely won't want to help you unless you are very persistent. Remember, if someone is not helpful demand to speak to their manager until you finely reach a higher up who will. Point being said, next time, especially with big purchases, it's worth it to pay for plane tickets & go to the dealer to check it out in person. A loss of a few hundred bucks is so worth it if you stand to loose over a 100k. I wish you the best of luck & really hope they find a way to rectify your completely warranted dissatisfaction. God Bless

I agree with you. They are selling based on it's capabilities alone, which is great! They are not telling anyone that the inside is like a tin can. No insulation no basic hardware. It's like a hot air balloon that's going down too fast, you start throwing everything out to make it lite. At this point there ripping off the customer. That was good information, thanks! A similar situation happens with the Tesla Model S Plaid, Jeep Wrangler, McLaren F1, and others. It's sad you spend your money like that, I think the cost it is because you're not paying for a "padded seat", but for an "go to the wild and survive" machine plus a relatively small company with a limited market (less demand, small production increases the cost, etc.), look at the Veyron's tires cost and you will understand. Being positive maybe you get a particularly defective product, and that happen everywhere, even your computer may not have the best CPU of his own production's line (just trying to cheer you up here). But also, being brutally honest, you were a victim of your own ignorance by creating an expectation without knowledge (like you said at the beginning). There are tons of information about these issues online and I think you are doing great by sharing your experience.

I also personally own a Sherp Pro. The same model as the one on the video. Mine was a 2021 and one of the last models sold before Sherp licensed sales and support to Argo. I agree with most of this guys comments. Mine sealed a little better and my switches were labelled properly but the rest is spot on. It wasn't that he got a lemon. There are some truly baffling design and assembly choices made on these vehicles. Having said that,I have totally enjoyed my Sherp and use radio ear protection in the cab to protect my hearing and talk to my passengers without yelling. I figured out a lot of work arounds. Still, I have recently demo'd the Argo Sasquatch and placed my order. Argo seems to have addressed a lot of the little things that Sherp overlooked while adding some major enhancements (someone mentioned the can and interior is actually made and manufactured by John Deere - those folks know a little about tractor cab design right?)

Apparently Sherps are around 65K in Russia, at least in 2016. I’m sure not the highest end one is that cheap, but I wonder if some of the extra cost in the US is import duties, and maybe also because it’s such a low yield production line? Still that would never be twice the cost of the vehicle and there’s no excuse for it to be so cheaply designed inside.

Two aspects come to mind immediately. 1) Why would you spend so much money on a piece of equipment without first eyeballing it? 2) I would have gone nuclear seeing the lack of quality on such an expensive vehicle. I used to bark ferociously at Argo ATV years ago because of their poor fit/finish on new vehicles. Things at Argo have improved a lot since they started producing the Aurora line up. I see Argo is marketing the Sherp as a vehicle they're now producing. I wonder what there prodution models are like compared to the Ukrainian made units?

Why didn’t you look at the Fat Truck. It’s so much better and more the a sherp. All of the things you complained about are not an issue with a FT. The FT has a joy stick and not a clutch, brake or a gas pedal and skid steer. It’s all done with the hydrostatic transmission and joystick. My FT heats up great and it also has a AC unit that is great in the hot weather. I bought the smaller sheep and there were maybe 4 options. The FT has probably 25 to 30 options. I got rid of my Sherp as soon as I took a test ride in a FT. Yes they are a little more money but it’s 70 percent American parts and it’s made in Canada too.

I did look into them and while I believe that is cool, it’s also a lot more to break. Coming from experience with skisteers, I have a 2018 CAT 279D and all of its problems have been electrical and all of them with the joystick controls. I like the mechanical aspect of the sherp but I believe there are better ways to do it, some of which I’m looking into custom making currently.

The Fat Truck is also vastly inferior to the Sherp, at least on paper. I can't speak to the Sherp N, specifically, but I've not had any similar problems in my Sherp Pro. It's also significantly lighter than the Fat Truck, and uses less fuel(probably related to the weight).

I don't have a $135,000 to spend on a Sherp but I agree that is pathetic and I'd be pissed to. The crossed out label was just unbelievable. From what I saw it looks like a $50,000 vehicle, at best, with another $10,000 or $20,000 to fix the issues it has. I'd say either buy an old one and rebuild it, fixing the issues in the process, or just take the $135,000 and build your own. You might even be able to get the mechanical parts you need from Sherp and then just build your own cabin, etc.

I wonder if the one imported by Argo is any better. They get the from sherp and add to them when they get to North America. The sasquatch they just released is completely made by them in Canada though. Pretty awesome machines.

I feel bad for you but must say a trip to test drive and inspect one should have been apart of your buying decision. Your review is honest and will help others before they buy. I looked at one near me but would only use it during floods here in Eastern NC. I fully get where your at and why this style vehicle is practical for your environment. Hopefully you can fix those issue or get the company to help out. The blame is on yourself for violating the "7 P's". Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance Although you reveal some issues, m I st seem fixable. A larger concern would be the maintenance ( scheduled and emergency) . Where would you get it repaired? Will your warranty be voided if a certified repair should doesn't do your required Service Checks. Something as simple a tune ups would be a major task and should have been factored into your decision to own. Vehicles like that require adjustments for winter , fording and summer use. I hope the company doesn't try to screw your warranty if the services are unavailable. There was no return period????? Again, appreciate the honesty and sharing, it took some courage to admit fault. Be safe out there !

I think you got one that was made Monday morning. I got one an my back window came with a latch the covers on the floor pull up with out catching, I’ve used mines like 3 times in the year I’ve owned it i much rather just use one of my Rzrs.but I do agree for a toy that cost over $100k the interior shouldn’t look like my mower shed.

I am a panel beater by trade for 30 years ..the finish on this machine for $135000 is pathetic..the gap at the front door would drive me nuts..that area should be sealed tight to prevent water and wind and insects from coming in.and shame on that heating system i like my heaters working when its freezing..Cherp youve lost my vote for interior finish👎i wouldnt pay $135000 for that

I' m sure that another company 'll copy the system and 'll do a better job! I certainly don't have the money to buy a Sherp but in my dreams I'm getting one. Lol. I can't believe Sherp would let their vehicles off the lot like this. It's ludicrous! I totally feel for you. I would definitely contact them and have them make things right. I mean what if you're crawling over a boulder and your sideways and the stinking back window is wide open? I'm no expert but it seems like it could cause a problem. What if you're on ice which breaks and you go into the water with the back end initially lower than the front? The window would be gaping open letting freezing water come in. I mean come on! Don't get me started on the heater. Yikes! I can't believe there are so many problems. I feel for you man. 🤗 Sherp, you can and need to do better.

I wanted to let you know that comments are turned off your video of the fuel issue. I thought I would tell you to rinse out your wheel hubs. If you ever think of putting fuel in them you better inspect them thoroughly. We had significant black plastic bits from when the opening was drilled out. It left us stranded when we tried using that feature. Be careful with the wheel fuel tanks as they are not certified and if they crack you will have an environmental issue on hand.

When I saw this thing for the first time I’m assuming you also had the same or obviously a better reaction as you spent a few years of my wages to own it but I instantly thought’ seeing if I finance one after watching someone go over the vehicle and seeing how it was I assumed the price tag would have been that of a regular car because the with regular cars you get a so so engine and what not snd all the not but all the conveniences and luxuries that was spent on the capability’s in a his vehicle but when I saw the price tag my jaw dropped it’s is exactly like paying for what the nicest luxury cars cost on the market. This cost as much as a maybach or Porsche or Bentley would cost. Like the newest ones on the market are almost exactly this much. It would be as if you bought one of those had no access to a dealer and then go inside and it had the interior of fleet vehicle, but a low end fleet vehicle. Which I get shipping cost a little but not that much but k was under the he impression these are under “ STANAG 3” agreement seeing as one of the main distributors is the STREIT group who mske militart vehicles so everything they build is up to militar standards and this is not military standard it looks like Joe Schmo mike Myself could finance one for $35k and go hook my off grid camper to this and bug out but no it’s like a luxury car but the interior 100% has to be over hauled and part in the exterior as well but not the way the interior does for what these are meant to do it didn’t add up other than they assume the person with the money to afford these also could afford to spend the money they didn’t have to on the interior. I mean the they are from Kyiv they could use the excuse the counties at war im sure lists of there material and parts were from Russia actually I know they were so production cost probably have Skyrocketed since they initially bought and started the company but that’s a cost you have to eat for a product you want to sell well wne have a good name behind

I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure the sherp was designed for military use. If It wasn’t it at least looks like it was. The 130k goes to the drive train the solid construction and reliability. I’ve been up close and personal with many us military vehicles and this is what you should expect with them. It’s unfortunate but just something to keep in mind.

The diesel engine sits right behind the fron seats, not much you can do about that but I completely agree with the rest. I can't remember where I saw it but those rings on the panels, I saw some in maybe a camper or something where you turned them to unlatch them but even if they had those type they would need stripping around the lip of the panels so they wouldn't bang.

Would the sherp be a good vehicle to take UFO hunting? going to marshy places where UFOs are said to land? Is the vehicle sturdy enough to prevent ETs from getting inside the sherp and kidnapping you? Will the electronics of the sherp and engine still work in the presence of a UFO? Or will it die like most land vehicles? These are just some of the questions I need to know,

You are exactly right. There IS such a thing as fit and finish engineering, even with utility vehicles. This Sherp literally cost $20,000 more a 2021 500hp-180mph Porsche 911-GTS. You can litterally buy a 2021 Mercedes Benz decked out S580, a 400hp V8, with a fit and finish that is beyond incredible, for $15.000 less than this Sherp. I don't blame you one bit for being pissed off about all the home-depot grade angle aluminum & weather stripping, garbage heater with no functional defroster, cheap switches, no latches, and entire interior put together with Velcro.

I am not in the market for one of these, could not afford it even if I wanted to buy one, but I totally agree with you. I would be extremely upset too. Now, having said that, I would not throw $100k+ at anything I have not seen and tested, even if I had that kind of money, so...take it as a very hard learned lesson. But you are right, that is not worth that kind of money, and even as a totally utilitarian piece of equipment, it is just half assed done, period!

I can't afford to buy one, that said, I do not think any of you comments/observations are petty. The fact that they not only used velcro... but to than not even stitch it in place, but use double sided tape. On the floor panels, they could have used fixtures that has a tongue that retracts when outer lever is lifted. As for the cross bracings under the floor panels, that would make it impossible to store many items one may require in a deep bush emergency... which will be left behind or be left to rattle around the passenger area. Which would/could cause injury. And as for the front floor boards... would an additional 2 inches to the width of the interior or an inch reduction to each floor panel have killed the vehicle. The rear window rattling, if they had even used a better or firmer hydraulic system, than a latch wouldn't be needed, but to have no latch AND cheap hydraulics, there is no excuse. As there is no excuse for the lack of wind proofing, which may go back to the sub part hydraulics... which raises the question, have they changed the hydraulics they use? Sorry to make this so long, but when you spend money, any amount of money. .. you expect to get the best possible return for it. And you are far kinder than I would be in your place. I would tell them they have 2 options, 1) they can pay for their failings to be corrected by a local/send someone to correct them, or 2) they can pay the round trip shipping and all other fund needed to have it shipped back and fixed at their location.

I started looking at these until I saw the price, and yes I could afford it. I’m not saying anything against those have them, they are beasts as far as what they can do. However, after looking at them online, I just couldn’t justify that much money. I’ve actually started looking at some of the Russian made all terrain vehicles. I think Sherps I was looking at were made in Canada. Anyway, They have a sherp atv you can get for $65,000. I also thought the back of the sherp had sleeping quarters and small kitchen until I started looking. I don’t have anyone other than my wife that would be with me so the way it is now is basically useless.
