I bought a copy of this game last year on the Switch Lite and my biggest problem is one of the quests you have to do in order to progress the game, the fishing game with your grandpa. When I unlocked this, I didn't realize that I had a small window of time to find my grandfather and play this game with him. He only stands by the duck pond for a short period of time and when he walks away you've missed out because he will NOT approach the duck pond and me not knowing that I was waiting for him for several in game days to go to the duck pond. I had to look up the quest on the Wiki and when I saw that I missed my chance I was PISSED. I had already re-started the game TWICE because of a game breaking bug I encountered at night related to skipping the dreams. The way I found around this game-breaking bug was to let the wolves catch me and they force me to go to the next morning. I REALLY, REALLY want to continue to play this game but unless the devs work more on improving the Switch version I just can't.

I'll definitely wait for a major sale before getting it. The lack of a town and relationships is a big turnoff for me. But it seems like it would still be enjoyable, so i don't mind getting it on like a 50% off sale.

Thanks for this review! It looks nice, but I'm a bit worried about that motion sickness you mentioned, so will wait for more patches and later reviews! I got this on PC when it released a few weeks ago. I think with time it could be a fantastic little farm sim theres just a few bugs too many for me at the moment :)

So far, looking past the bugs on the Switch, really enjoying this game & the slow pace. The biggest things for me at the moment are the controls & motion sickness.

Oh no… I am really bad with games giving me motion sickness. The extreme one I encountered was with skyrim. I haven’t ever played that after trying three times (I really the open world it had 😢). I had to rest for long just because of it. And here I was about to buy the game😢😅

This game is giving me Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles vibes and I love it. I will probably wait about getting it though, bugs don't bother me much but I think it will be even more enjoyable to play after a few updates. Not to mention I don't want to have another situation like I did with the console version of My Time At Portia where it only updated to a certain point... If I was a PC player it would be fine but I'm not so yeah I'ma wait. Thanks for the lovely review though. Hope to eventually play it once I complete more of my backlog c:

I buyed it and love it. I played a lot, have fun, build new shelters and fields and was happy. and than, with one quest, for me the bugs came. hope they will fixed it asap. dog and cat can't train anymore, so there are useless atm. I haven't problems with performance or motion sickness. now I'm afraid of playing forward, because so many people have trouble with savegame errors or crashes in later game. I'm sad, really sad 😢

As a man, I have zero shame in admitting that I have an affinity for cozy little farming games as such but god... It kills me that this game is somewhat of a bomb on switch... There is nothing I want more than a solid sim like game for the switch that I can play with a significant other or friends. Ill sit tight until the bugs are worked out... I cant wait for Palia tbh. I found moving around slow and tedious and the cooking incredibly hard. Running out of energy so quickly was annoying and spoilt the game play. I stopped playing after 4 days.

I played the demo way back and stopped playing after an hour because, I could not, no matter what, herd those damn sheep, even using the dog was just as complicated. I was thinking at the time, if this game is like this going forward, I’m definitely NOT getting it. I hope that was just the demo, but scared to get it if it still starts off that way, cause I’m not playing it.

I have bought this game and find it very NOT cozy and actually really stressful and in some ways really difficult. And that is without the switch glitches. I can’t do the goat dreams, can’t cook… I can’t advance my quests. I’ve put lots of hours into it and just didn’t want to turn it on today.

hi! (I'm BR, sorry if my English isn't 100%). I looked elsewhere and couldn't find anyone talking about it, but my game worked really well and now it freezes on the loading screen whenever I try to sleep. It turns out that a dream appears, directing you to a mission called "Explore the heart of the ancient forest", given by the Wild Boar, and the game freezes on the loading screen. Did this happen to you? If so, do you know how I can fix this?

I bought this for Switch and although I love the cozy cute aspect of the game but I am disappointed that your energy runs out so quickly making it tedious. Also some parts of the gameplay are so tricky to master, especially cooking. It’s a bit clunky in areas so I am not sure I want to continue playing for now.

I played the demo on my Steam Deck and found it pretty clunky and frame-y so was on the fence. Looks like it runs pretty well on Switch though, and there's currently a pretty sweet "owners" sale. Wondering with the minigames though, I'll be playing handheld only, and they look like they use the joycons detached. Is there settings for these, or does it change if you're in handheld? TIA!

You can play the mini games without detaching the joycons. However as I mentioned, the game was pretty buggy when I played.
