Thanks for confirming my suspicions - nobody ever pointed out a fundamental benefit.

There's lots of benefits to using a more powerful MCU, it's just most of the developers aren't taking advantage of it for one reason or another.

if the devs don't take advantage of it ... what is the benefit? @@FailsafeFPV

Great Advice !!!! THis is all i need!!! Have been dizzy thinking to buy this H7 or F722. After this 722 is way to go for me... thank you very much

One reason for H7 is for 2MB flash for running full Ardupilot (F405 = 1MB)

I wonder if it could run with a higher PID loop, though... 🤔 Either way, thanks, Pawel! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I was going to build a SpeedyBee F405, but I decided to switch to the H743 because I'm planning to use Arducopter, and although the F405 is supported, there are some limitations afaik.

On your adivce, I just bought 3 F405 Speedybee controllers because of all features they have not for the price.

I got worried for a second!! I have H7 boards in a couple of quads.

I avoid F4s like I avoid H7s. F4s are the cheapest option available now and sometimes the cheapest option has compromises in quality you can’t immediately see to make it work with the price point. Some F4s have very few UARTs and less of them are usable due to one being inverted RX and one being inverted TX pad for FrSky. Yes, ELRS can handle using these pads but it can it sometimes does not work with telemetry because the inverted RX does not have a matching TX, they only broke out one pad for the VTX control. Most of my “fleet” (I’ve been told the number is high enough to be considered a fleet) have F7. The few F4s are for use cases where only an F4 is available like 1s whoop and a 16x16 where f7 wasn’t available when I needed to replace the flight controller. Have not built with H7 yet but imagine that if more additional options get added to BetaFlight H7s will be an advantage. Most of the F7s I that seem to be available are the F722 with less memory. I would love to see features available in iNav added to BetaFlight as additional options which could be installed on flight controllers with more memory.

I think you mix F411 and F405 in the same basket. That's not fair
@TechnicallyTom7 ай бұрын
@@FPVBitesF405 is definitely not as good as F411 but it’s still feel that it’s worth it for me to get F7s when I can.
@FPVUniversity7 ай бұрын
I think you messed things up a little. F411 is the SIMPLES MCU we use right now. Comparing to F411 F405 is much more advanced and powerful. In many ways, F722 is worse than F405@@TechnicallyTom
@TechnicallyTom7 ай бұрын
Yeah you’re right. The numbering is a bit confusing. I would expect the higher number to be the more advanced but it’s not. I go by number of UARTs if I can’t get F7 so think I did actually get F405 when I last bought a 16x16.
@MrPashee7 ай бұрын
I think H7 is more future-proof... If you don't want to buy new flight controller every year. F411 almost a pumpkin today.
@ChrisQuadFPV8 ай бұрын
F7 can do s-port f4 has to do soft serial which is too slow. That's my case anyways.
@fishjaeger94867 ай бұрын
Hmm I do not agree. Have several H7, Kiss Ultra💪 and will never look back. Maybe for Betaflight it is the case 😅
