But the companies who make these products catered to the ones who can’t afford the good equipment when they start. So it sells. To that audience. But Hopefully people will appreciate your effort to help others make wise money decisions. In the future. As far as electronics go. You get what you pay for. It's not about the microphone, it is all about how you amplify and how you convert the analog audio signal to digital. I totally agree with you. Some aspiring singer rightnow are using V8, the problem with V8 is you can clearly hear the echoes instead of the vocals and also, V8 is not a great soudcard/audio interface. My current set up rightnow is BM800, a $10 pre amp, and a usb soundcard. My voice from the BM800 is clear.

PARA SAKIN SIR, WAG KA NALANG MAGBIGAY NG HINDI MAGANDANG REVIEW FOR THE V8. I ACTUALLY BOUGHT ONE. IBA PARIN YUNG MGA MAMAHALIN NA MGA SOUNDCARD AT CONDENSER MIC. MY POINT IS ANUNG EXPECTATION MO SA HALAGANG 600-750 Pesos sa isang SOUND CARD. Depende nalang yan kung saan gagamitin. May Mixer kami Yamaha at Condenser at Soundcard.

I have a V8 soundcard. It doesn't say the effects hehe when you press it. For me it worked great without the phantom power but I also bought the phantom power just for that extra boost in clarity. The V8 sound card is a pretty good entry level soundcard/board specially when you need that extra control over your audio (input volume, audio monitoring etc.). For me it served as another plug for my headphones cause I only have one audio jack on my laptop and you can pass your laptop audio to the V8 and plug your headphones onto it. That hiss could also be removed pretty well with software and OBS Noise Suppression if you're streaming or recording on your PC. I won't say na you shouldn't buy it but there are probably better ones out there but for a higher price.

Aedrox! Thanks for this comment and shedding light as an owner. I think that having the phantom power was a good decision, which helped you sidestep the issues I presented. I have received quite a number of complaints about hissing with the V8 + BM800 and that's why I am warning people against it. Based on people reaching out to me, they only have budget for a phantom power OR v8, and this video is meant for those viewers. Pinning your comment so that others will have the perspective of an owner. P.S. I meant that the voice changer says the voice effect before switching into it -- can you confirm?

I had one and every issues mentioned in the vid is accurate. This thing dont have the proper preamp to drive a condenser mic and a lot of noise can be heard from both inputs (mics and instruments). It is also worth to mention the wobbly knobs that isnt butter-smooth when increasing gain, giving you large chunks at higher clicks. the insrument/dynamic input feels cheap as any cables hooked to it doesnt feel secure. DO NOT BUY IT GUYS IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. better save it for more worthy budget interfaces like behringer, m-audio or if you can save a lot more, Focusrite -scarlett solo will be your best bet.

pretty sure its not from the soundcard, the megaphone-y sound its prolly because of how the user adjusted it on the soundcard/app he used. from my understanding the soundcard helps with the gain so the audio u produce is a lot cleaner (less hiss). if you have the bm 800 set try listening to it with and without the v8. the hiss is extremely noticeable when u just connect the mic to the integrated soundcard

Thanks for the kind words! You made a very good point -- manufacturers often bloat feature lists to make up for quality. You can definitely buy the V8 if you think that voices and soundeffects are the foundation of content. However, I strongly believe that quality vocals are the foundation of personality-based entertainment, and from this perspective, the V8 fails.

Well if you're going for an investment I will recommend a proper audio interface you can start with Behringer U-Phoria UM2 , it has phantom power as well as the xenyx pre amp , the thing is if you're going to buy v8 , at the end of the day you will need a phantom power, it is inconvenience if you're gong to buy two items if you could take advantage of having a proper audio interface especially if you're a musician or a content creator.

This is great video. Nice. Informative. People just react, I think, because the equipment are very useful to them in a way and it is for a very cheap price. I guess this is applicable for amature, but for pro, it won't do. Techinically speaking, it really has its flaws and might not give the full potential of your equipment as he said. The quality of the sound isn't really cut for professional recording. I have started with these equipment for a quite long time and they gave a me nice intro into this industry but noticing some flaws I felt the need to upgrade my equipment. If you are looking for a great quality and you have budget, look for something that gives value to your money. For starters, it's good to start with something, but eventually if you will be looking for a greater quality, and you will really have to upgrade. But(again), if it's not something you do for a living and it is just for a hobby, well, I guess it's fine. Nice channel. Might hang around. 👍

The phantom power, just in case you don't know, is ONLY supplying power to the BM800 bcoz it is a condenser microphone. You still need an amplifier like the V8 if you only use a phantom power. The V8 is affordable and makes a good job as an alternative for high-end amp. I can dispute your claim that the BM800 has a hiss when use with V8 which is a low-noise. If you're not a tech guy, don't argue with me bcoz i can fix your tv set, computer, etc.

You don't need the V8 at all for the BM800 once you have phantom power. V8 is not low noise, the components don't seem to be shielded from the power source which provides a lot of interference which I encountered in my actual review.

Haha.. I just bought one yesterday and now I see your video.. hoho.. and I had a BM800 over there as well .. now I have to say that setting the mic with gain level 75 (as you indicated in one of your videos) the noise was totally blow off! So, right now it is working just perfect. The card came with another mic also cheap en-core 300 and it works better than the BM800 must said. I found very nice that the accompanion background music I can add it through BT with no more cables. I just needed the V8 to use the condensed mics properly to record some audios. BTW your channel is amazing.. thank you so much for your dedication and professionalism .. had to said as well.. big hugs from Costa Rica.

despite getting alot of hate probably from v8 owner. this review is pretty spot on. i own one my self(also with the mentioned mic), not to be a DJ or record anyting, i was straight up bored and wanted to try something else(mostly because of google meet tho). on the day it came to my door step and pluging it in i found that the card cant drive the mic properly. my immediate thought was to throw an amp something like fiio A3, which i use daily to run my cans. as a person who never serious on doing stuff like this, ill say its a pretty ok i guess. for a person who is serious on using this and want his/her content quality to be the best investment. then, as the dude say, skip this. it will leave your viewer having impression of you having low quality set up. now that isnt as bad as it sound, but considering that you want to be competitive in that market, this should not be a thing to neglect. edit: people probably cant hear the differences on its quality if they have trash lvl headset or idk a 1$ earpiece. maybe, idk man, dont own any of that anymore, they dont last.

Sa wakas po may nahanap ako na sang ayon sa pananaw ko about bm800 and v8.. salute sir.. Godbless..

I have recently bought this product and actually paired it with BM-800 too... 😅.. My English is not that well otherwise I would have made a review video for all of those who understand English (I usually target the audience who speaks Urdu/Hindi). That being said, here is a advice to make your BM-800 Audio better with V8 Soundcard(if you have bought it already). I use Voicemod (its a free/paid software) so basically it has a noise suppressor(in free version too) which removes that hiss noise even if you are using the BM-800 without the V8 soundcard, but there is like a very little echo/hiss/robotic noise (most noticeable when editing your audio) [turn on the voice changer button so that it can work]. So, when I bought this Soundcard it actually helped, Although I wasn't expecting it to work like that. but now my audio is much much better and I don't think I need a phantom power now(Although maybe in future if my wallet allow me too). If you have bought it don't worry, you can stream, make contents etc. Hope this helps. 🙂 P.S: Adjustments needs to be made according to your voice.

I'm planning to buy a bm 800 condenser mic to pair it to my v8 sound card but I don't think it would work great like what you said a bm 800 microphone should pair into a phantom power not a v8 sound card that will just increase the sound with hissing and exaggerated noise reduction, I'm currently using a v8 sound card to record my guitar cover and my guitar effects has a pre-amp which makes the sound even louder when I recorded it on my v8, the results is my guitar sounds is clipping and hissing even at the lowest volume, I just buy the v8 sound card to have an audio monitoring when recording unlike my I Rig that has a tons of latency when recording but I think an I Rig is much better when you're planning to pair with a pre-amp without planning to have an audio monitor.

I agree naman dito, lalo na para sa mga magagaling sa tunog like musicians o recording artists. I have BM800 and V8, pero meron talagang audio issues, that's why it is recommended na may PHANTOM POWER para mag-improved ang quality. Ang masasabi ko lang, mas suitable ito sa mga beginners o nag-uumpisa palang mag-record o mag-stream. Then kapag may budget kana then upgrade kana ng equipment na mas maganda. 🙂

Ok, now I agree with this video. It's not a quality device series. I bought V9 and found that it was unable to render the input audio from any source include microphones of all types. I returned it and bought v8. And yes, there are some minor noise issues, however, two major issues were 1. The Bass and Trebble were only coming in the monitor, but not on live, neither in recordings. 2. It was getting restarted when tried to connect BlueTooth. 3. Two buttons i.e. Electronic and another effect (forgot the name) were never found to be working, tested with musical instruments jacks as well.

FYI the BM800 is NOT a condenser mic, (falsely advertised) I bought one for my son's online class, and it worked by plugging straight to the mic in of his desktop. A true condenser mic will not even work if you try to plug in from that port. I agree to the comments, you should have the product before making a video like this.
@NORCLA
@NORCLA 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I do think that the BM800 is a condenser mic just because when plugging it into the phantom power, there is a huge improvement with gain. This isn't the same when I use my dynamic mic on my interface that has phantom power. Re having the device, I stand by my comments, because those who have the v8 soundcard actually complain that it doesn't work for them. The final litmus test of audio is what your end product sounds like, specifically on stream and on video. But don't worry -- I was able to borrow a V8 from a streamer friend. Spoiler alert: it does suck lol

I have a V8 sound card for the longest time, and there's a noice that gets in the way. It's almost quiet, but when you say nothing or you're not listening to music, the sound can be heard. It goes like this: "bzz...bzz...bzz...bzz..." it goes on like a tempo. It says that it's the mic, but I'm using a HyperX Cloud Alpha connected to the card along with cables that is a 2-in-1 headset mic splitter. So I don't know what to do. It's connected to the PC, but previously, I had the same situation whenever I used to have it plugged to the PS4 Console. What can I do to clear that noice?

BM800 is pretty easy to noise fix, it needs one resistor post Zener+transistor regulator and one capacitor across the resulting rail. I have made the same fix as ffcossag except i kept the Zener and i think i used a 470 Ohm resistor, and i forget what i did with capacitors but it was a little different as well. I think a 200 Ohm resistor will be fine as well. With lower value resistors than the suggested 1k, there's no need to replace the Zener, the voltage basically doesn't drop, it's fine. You can give it a crazy low noise performance if you replace the 16mm passive electret capsule with a brass cased 25mm one, those can be had cheaply and they're insanely sensitive. Beware of super fake BM800s like the Neewer one which don't have a passive capsule and a separate K596 JFET (a gain transistor) on the board, but have the same 9mm capsule that you find in a headset microphone hotglued into the 16mm capsule front casing to disguise it. The headset capsule has a JFET built in, so they can just reuse the electronics, leave K596 unpopulated, and just solder where K596 would be instead of at the intended capsule solder points. Needless to say i'm not a big fan of the 9mm capsule hack. Of course there's only so much benefit you get out of this. You kill the self-noise just about, but you still have room noise! Most Behringer Xenyx mixers on the low end have crap pre-amps, they call them all the same, they say they're Midas or something, but they aren't the same. But of course you can do worse. The unpleasant trait is that many of those Xenyx cheaper ones don't supply full 48V phantom but something like 15, which is not ideal, but i think it'll just about work with these. A 3.5mm jack is vaguely an indication that instead of phantom power, you get plug-in power. That's 5V or 3.3V via 3kOhm resistor or something like that. Interestingly the way BM800 is made, it'll run like that just about, though not correctly; but the fixed one where the circuit was corrected as above might not. Most of the electronics in the BM800 ends up not doing anything except making noise at plug-in power, basically all you need is the K596 and the capsule and the rest is not working properly, just interfering. True phantom power connection with XLR and with a properly made XLR cable (which isn't such a given, i have seen so many miswired ones) is that much more noise resilient regardless of preamps. With the microphone electronics fully operational, it actually provides a fair bit of gain internally, so you can make do with very mediocre preamps when running one of those, it's fine.

Quality reviews tips : 1. Buy the goods. 2. Buy the comparison item at the same price. 3. Try both on your own. What you do: mocking cheap goods by comparing them to more expensive items. And without you even buying that cheap thing. Everyone knows you will get more great results using more professional and more expensive items. But that doesn't mean you can mock at cheap products.
