With your $400 permit, most of the money goes towards track maintenance, so why the corrugations and shit state of the track?

Great question, and there's a lot to say about this. The maintenance of the track, toilets and wells are predominantly done by volunteer groups, not the Aboriginal communities who receive the fees. That said, the track is considered "not maintained" and therefore, to an extent, will just be how it is. Somewhat part of the challenge I guess, but it sure is rough on the cars.
