Sorry but i disagree. as someone who sits on an unspecified number of Thrawn figures, i like investing in lego, since like this, i can afterwards invest in more lego or other fun things. Mind you, if thrawn would be re released or an improved version would be released, well, that is the risk any investor took, got to deal with that, sucks being me, but hey, as someone who actually does like lego and the people passionate about it, part of me will kinda be happy for those people. In the mean time though, if you want a Thrawn figure for 110 euro, give me a call, i know a person ;) Add to that note, considering the pricing certain minifigs once where, bricklink is a thing, ect, and the small amount of time that since passed it feels to me actually insane something like the thrawn figure apreciated that rapidly. That does now ever mean i do not even get that, unless someone only recently earned money or something...well....if they really go and be angry about certain minifigures being that expensive, perhaps they should have bought it earlier. Really, it is a free market,...unless those things are sitting on a bubble(i think some actually kinda are), then the pricings mean people actually want those sets/minifigures.

I'm glad that LEGO does this, at the end of the day this is a childs toy we're talking about. Yes they are highly collectable for adults too but if they're cheaper and more accessible to get in more sets, then both kids and collectors can get the characters they want easier. The only people this hurts is second market sellers who want to sell tiny plastic figures for ridiculous prices... And fuck those guys.

01:03 Yep. Lego investors have a double blow because the Mandalorian loyalist figure from the Starfighter set 75316 has already been released in a foil pack. So it’s only Gar Saxon that is now exclusive to that set. However, rumour has it that Gar Saxon will also be appearing as a foil pack figure with the Lego SW magazine later this year. So the value of the Starfighter set should take a hit too.

For people who dont understand lego investing. Imagine a set where people buy to collect rather then resell. If someone buys with collection in mind they usually don’t have money into thinking about resell. Yes prices go up but they cap at certain prices. On the other hand LEGO “investors” bank on the fact that they can always make money on peoples hobbies. Best example I saw is the imperial transport pilot being sold at $12 after retirement for most people until someone bought all and set the price at $25. It happened on a bricklink a while back. The thing is too is that lots of common figs are going up in price too. Stormtroopers and clones are highly sought after and scummy people try and make money off ones passion.
