The nice thing about Kremvh's Tooth is that it isn't technically a legendary weapon, what it is is a machete with a unique blade modification. This means that if you have a machete with a different legendary effect, you can remove the blade from Kremvh's Tooth then put it on the other machete and get the benefit of both.

I recovered two AK's off of enemies in the Commonwealth but no 7.62, even the enemies didn't have any on them. I understand that 7.62 is available in Nuka World but I haven't been there yet. Is there anywhere else I could acquire some?

No. The only way to make 7.62mm ammo available in the Commonwealth is to have Nuka World gangs take over settlements and set up your own vendor.
