So normally when you get a new pair of glasses there’s a bit of an adjustment period. Where it feels a little too strong and after a couple days it goes away but in this case with myopia and let’s say I’m at a -2.0 and the glasses feel too strong then I should at least go to a -1.75 right or even -1.50 or at least until magnification that doesn’t feel too strong since I’m trying to better my vision not worsen it than it feels like if it’s really strong then it’s just worsening my eyes is this correct?

I wanted to get eye surgery to fix my vision and I compared the cost of that to buying the $100 glasses off of Zenni optical. For me I’ve only spent $700 on all my glasses and will end up at $1000 by the end. So I’ll save $1500. So thinking of it that way means that for me to get 20/20 vision I’m actually saving money. It takes longer, but In the end it will be worth it for me.

I went too fast lol. Now I’m back up to -2.00 and I’m going to just stay there until my eyes remember what clear vision is. I was at -1.25 and wondering why I couldn’t clear the blur. I went down too fast. I was loving how fast my eyes improved and thought if I kept going down by .5 diopters I’d get to the finish line faster. I should have went from -2.00 to -1.75 instead of going to -1.50 and pushing myself to go faster. The only saving grace is knowing that being at -2.00 is still better than where I was two years ago (-4.00).

I personally don't think is some kind of lie. Many people are overprescribed. Others have eye strain. There are lots of anecdotal cases around the World. I don't know if someone can really get 20/20 by any natural vision improvement. But, everyone can reduce a lot of their diopters, generally people can reduce by a half their full prescription. Before buying new distant glasses you could try reading glasses (+0.75) under your distant glasses/contacts. At least your vision wont get any worse by doing that and uses to sharpen way more your current distant prescription. And for further improvement, you should buy a strong + for all close work (+1.5 ~ +2.0) and wear them along with your distant prescription. If does not work for you, you spent a little money, cause reading glasses are cheap. There are reading glasses without frames, just lenses and nose supporter, you can fit them inside your distant glasses and remove them anytime, basically they are portable reading glasses.

Has anybody had actual success in eliminating their need for lenses? Especially if your diopters are low to begin with? Because I feel like he is not telling the whole truth. If you look closely, he still squints his eyes to see. It also looks like he has glasses imprints/marks around the inner corner of his eyes. I may be mistaken about that part but I definitely notice the squinting. So has anyone really seen complete results (not needing glasses, contacts, etc)?

Ok I get it, reduce by 1 diopter maximum for your distance glasses. However Cliffgnu suggests that for computer work (a second pair of glasses), you could reduce by 1.25 diopter. I do hours of computer work every day; between 8-10 hours a day most weekdays, there's no getting around it as it's my job. Would that be acceptable also?
@aqualcholic
@aqualcholic 2 жыл бұрын
For me, +1.5 to current power works best for me for either distance or computer work. I don't need +2.5 for book reading, but it works for computer with a bit challenge for sure (doable without too much eye strain, more like push reading). I have no problem driving with +1.5 reduced lens to area that I'm familiar with in daytime but haven't tried on night driving or under more challenging situation. I started with +1 after the advice from ciffgnu's handbook then shift to +1.5 3 weeks later when I gain more confidence. BTW, I can see easily 20/32 with +1 glasses right after I got it.

During the day you are probably looking at a screen that is less than 3 feet away. Im in the same boat. Im thinking about just getting glasses that are strong enough so i can see text on a screen 3 feet away. It cant be good for my eyes to wear my 20/20 glasses for only looking at things 3 feet away when they are designed to see something 20 feet away clearly. I think this is what ruins eyes.
