@@4bunin I really like the colour ... it stands out among any other card I own. So far, I am finding Wise perfect for my needs. I signed up on Sunday (a non business day) and could use the card about half an hour later to make purchases after having transferred funds into my Wise account from my main bank account. The physical card arrived 3 days later after being sent from about 3000 miles away. Banks do not provide such prompt service. The main reason why I got a Wise card is purely for the purpose of having a secondary source of 'emergency' funds for small purchases (eg fuel for my vehicle) when my main bank card isn't available (eg it was cancelled after it got lost or the bank's comms is down). Wise have really done a good job at taking customer's needs into consideration and providing a great product. I just wish I had got one sooner. A big thumbs up to Ivan Bunin for the excellent presentation. Wise should be paying him for it.

sorry...still unclear about how to use it in a foreign country. I plan to go to Thailand and Philippines this coming October. So say if I want to use the card to pay for a restaurant meal in Thailand...do I need to create an account with Thai Baht then transfer enough USD money into that Thai account to make sure I have enough when purchasing some things in Thailand? OR do I just keep my money in USD...and Wise knows that I'm using the card in Thailand and will automatically convert some of my USD dollars to pay in Thai?

Hey! Yes, it should! PayPal may be tricky coz their service is demanding. I started using Wise as a freelancer too. Once you have it you can ask your clients to pay in their local currency to a "local" bank account that you can provide them with! So it's actually a win-win situation!

Hey! They can only issue the card to the residents of their approved countries. They might request a proof of residency with your name on it (bills, bank statements etc.) to prove that you actually reside there. You might move to some approved country for some time and prove your residency there. You don’t have to be a citizen for that. Also, you can use Wise without the card.

Yeah, correct. You can also just spend any leftovers in the US. It will automatically convert to USD.

You can do a bank transfer to your Wise currency account. In the beginning I've used it mainly to accept payments from clients, so I never topped it up. But then I mainly was adding money using Apple Pay.

Hey Antonino! Thank you! The conversion will take place automatically from your main balance, so technically you don't have to convert it beforehand. However, I do prefer to convert the needed amount to have a greater control over my spendings in each currency. If at some point you converted not enough, Wise will use whole amount of converted currency and then get the rest from your unconverted EUR balance. So, you should be good in any way :)

You would need to provide a proof of residency in order to request the card. Technically you can do it, but it won't be that easy.

That depends on the merchant (ie, the shop where you use your card). Unfortunately here in Australia, some merchants are too 'enterprising' and charge a 'surcharge', plus a contactless charge. People can avoid the contactless charge by inserting the card into the reader/POS terminal, but then you simply enter your PIN to authorise the payment.

Yes the card can be used in Apple Pay. If the card won’t arrive it just won’t be active. You can message the support then and they should send you a new one. If your country is not eligible, then I don’t think it is going to be delivered. I would double check it with their support.

As I understand it they might not want to send it to Serbia, so you would need to provide your Croatian address as your "residential" and use it for shipping. Then either pick it up in there or ask someone to re-send it to Serbia. Chances are you won't need the actual physical card as you will get the digital one

No, you can verify first, and this is what I encourage you to do. Verification process may vary based on country, but usually it will require a scan of your passport, energy/internet bill with your address, photo of you holding you passport and lastly verification code from a mail sent to you residence address. Again, that list might be inaccurate depending on your situation.

When you use this card to make purchases in local currency, for example, I get my card in Canada and I am visiting Mexico, so local currency is MXN pesos, I understand it’s completely free as long as you have money in your Wise MXN account. Is this correct?

Even if you don't have money on MXN account it will automatically withdraw the required amount from your other account for example USD or EUR. If you do have some amount in MXN, but it's not enough, it will use the MXN amount and then get the rest from your other acc.

I wasn't in Asia, but I didn't have issue with the card. Some countries might not like Visa/Mastercard etc, so it can be denied even if it's not a Wise card.

Hi, i know this is an old video but i have a quick question. (From th UK) I opened a wise account to be able to hold some US Dollars. I travel a lot to Turkey. If lets say i only needed £100 or £200 worth of turkish lira, is it worth me holding that on my Wise account or is it better to make payments using my Monzo card and allowing Monzo to do the conversion as it already does. The reason i ask is because i get a very decent rate using Monzo, however with Wise, to hold turkish lira it charges me a fee. Is it worth paying that fee or just spending using my Monzo account? After paying Wise conversion fees surely i will worse of, no?

Hey! Good questions. I don't think Wise charges you anything at all for keeping money on your account, and so far I don't think I saw any app with a better conversion rate. Me personally, I would still use Wise for that, but on $100-200 you won't see a significant difference on conversion rates. Hope that helps.

You can charge it as much as you will need to. I used both wire transfers, apple pay, card payment etc to top up the balance of my Wise account. No problems so far.

No, virtual card comes multicurrency. Meaning, it will automatically adjust the currency for each payment and will first use that currency from your account (if you have any).

With debit you spend only the money that you physically have on your bank/wise account. With Credit, you spend the bank's money and then pay them back, therefore they're offering different perks while you're doing that.
