I went to a local skate park and picked out a couple of good looking cool haired stylish young guys and said ‘I’ll give you these free T-shirts, pizza and beer if you could spare 1 hr to model them right here today and let me do some photos for my tshirt website’ and they did. I’m a good photographer, so it all worked out great, I got the exact models I wanted, they looked authentic in the shirts and i made profit. So, you can go to the cool areas around you, and ask people you like the look of to model for you

I got 10 points! Here's a little kudos to Sarah. I joined the E-Com Clubhouse. I wanted to take the POD Course. Wow! The course alone is worth every penny of the monthly dues and then some. It is simply a staggering amount of excellent information. There are more than 80 videos. I think if you take her course, you can open a store and hit the ground running! That's my plan anyway. Of course her many regular You Tube videos (like this one) are excellent also and contain a great deal of really good info.

Hi Sarah. First of all, thank you for your videos, they're so great!. About the copyright: So, when you buy the font you are basically buying the copyright, but I understand it's not hard protected/patented as Coca Cola that uses it as a brand reference. So, as long as you buy the font you are supposed to be ok in the business? Because, it just pops up in my mind when people upload a design to teespring for instance, then how is teespring going to ensure that random person used a legal font? Who's responsibility is this? I mean, dafont gives you the option to download that font for free ONLY for personal use. But, if that person uploads a design and teespring is not doing any questioning... I find this is a huge gap in my mind right now!

Massive value as always! I have had a question at the back of my head for a while now and I figured you might be a good person to ask since you sell from NZ. Have you gotten any customer complaints or had issues with sales and store trustworthiness because your store address is in NZ? I'm concerned because I am selling to the USA from outside the USA as well so my invoices are going to have a foreign address and I also can't provide a US phone number. Not sure if this will put some people off.
@WholesaleTed5 жыл бұрын
When selling to the USA it's best to avoid mentioning you're from a country outside of the USA, customers from the USA get massively put off about that. That's why inside The Ecomm Clubhouse, the refund page template we give members differs from whether you live in the USA or outside the USA: the international template is designed to avoid giving away that you're based outside of the USA.

Sarah, here's an idea of a video that I'd love to see - a video about SEO for different platforms. I can only assume that pulling your products on the front pages on search results on Etsy, eBay, etc. is totally different and it would be nice to have a video that explains in details how to do a proper SEO for different platforms. Because at the end of the day you may have great designs, but if your SEO is bad and you don't get organic traffic, that can cripple your business
@WholesaleTed5 жыл бұрын
Good suggestion Paulie. I do actually have an older video from a few years ago that focuses on SEO for Etsy that I recommend checking out if you're interested in selling on there.

Hi! So I’m not too sure about profit margins. To make a shirt it costs me $12, then shipping is $14. I was going to sell them at $24.99, but if I pay for shipping and do free shipping then I lose money. I was going to pay for half of the shipping, and just slightly reduce my profits, and get the customer to pay for the other half. Which I thought would be better then the full $14. I just wanted to get anyone’s word on it. Thanks so much!
@claudiacortes9576 Жыл бұрын
Your shirts cost $26 to create (shirt price + shipping) so in order to make any profit you’d have to charge more than that. Even if you can sell them for $36, you’d make $10 per shirt which is not too bad. However, if you can make really cool nice quality shirts you can price them up to $40 nowadays as long as their unique. On the other hand, the app you are using has a very expensive Shipping. Find another app that has cheaper shipping available. There’s printful & printify/gelato/ and many more that you can work with.

YEAH NAH! Lol OK so I played the game and only got 10 points. The first one. As a motion artist/ illustrator/ graphic designer, I do logos as a side hustle and love typeface, typography, fonts and hand lettering. So to me that was obvious with the “C” in that tee. BUT… everything else, I was not aware of except for the ‘using the same model twice’ vibe (got it wrong though) So it’s good to know what I was not aware of and now know I need to learn more of. Shot Sez! I just opened my Etsy after watching your ‘make a tshirt business for free’ video. But still got lots to learn.

Hi Sarah! I've been following your channel for about a year now. Thanks to you, I'm finally about to take the leap! 🤩 If you could please answer this one question that has been worrying me, I'd be so thankful. I have 13 men's t-shirts and about 15 women's t-shirts, and also 5 coffee mugs. I'll be adding a few more coffee mugs, but I don't know how many items is a good enough number to start with. Would my store look barebones and empty/new? Or is it good enough to start with just these many items? This has been my biggest question and it's stopping me from launching the store. TL;DR how many items is a good enough number to start a store with? Thanks a lot for awesome videos, Sarah! God bless
@WholesaleTed5 жыл бұрын
Hi David, that sounds like a pretty good number of items! I usually recommend 20 different product listings but by the sounds of it, you'll have close to that if not that number. I wish you well on your venture!
