They need to let you cancel online without talking to anybody. I tried the free trial just to see out it is and it felt like it took forever to cancel. I had to google the # and find it on a forum. The service itself isn’t bad, I just wish that they would shout all the live premium movie channels. Like Cinemax there are only 2 live when the other service like Hulu and KZbin TV give you more live channels.

Unfortunately that still isn’t happening. You still need to call them if you decide to cancel which is stupid. That is really the only bad thing about direct tv stream. The price is about average because no matter who you sign up with you will still be paying more. But as far as canceling goes it’s terrible. But get this the CEO is even not happy with ATT so why haven’t they fixed these problems yet with any of their services?

As always with these companies, call cancel, if they give you a problem, it's on them, you have cancelled So sick of their garbage customer service. One call one sentence, you are done.

Signing up in store is another great option. Your at&t rep should be able to look up those regional sports channels to confirm them for you as well as set up the full account and box (should you choose to get one) in store. They also will typically have the option to do a 'right to you delivery' if you'd prefer someone to come to your home to set a box up. Also canceling, if you purchase in store the rep in store should be able to call on your behalf to cancel during that 14 day money back guarantee.

This is not a great option. Right to you is the worst and self installation is always recommended. The best way to get information is calling a specialist and getting the information. Store Reps don’t understand the service. Always not all trials are 14 days. It’s always good to read

There is no installation unwrap, plug in your HDMI, plug the unit in. You are set to go . Make sure you have required bandwidth.

I signed up 3 weeks ago, not bad, Baseball option is available for $20 a month more, I purchased over the phone and was promised a free box and free unlimited stream, turned out they expect you to pay or fight (I fought) My only problem with the service is poor, washed out, low contrast video quality on major channels, especially network channels. Hope it gets MUCH better SOON!! ATT tech told me this is because my Sony TV is not compatible with the service!!! When video quality is good it can look near 4K, for this reason I will keep the service and hope it can evolve into something good. Right now 2.5 stars but hoping to give more in the future. Forgot- remote control is VERY poorly designed, no thought was given in the process

I have their stream device, very high quality HD 4K video and it has optic and HDMI audio output for my surround sound bar, sub and rear speakers.

One year later I have increased the rating by .5 to 3 stars. Service still shows near 4K (upconverted 1080) potential, customer service is as bad as Comcast, they want to rip you off for another $20 for Baseball (buy a 20 channel package you don't want). But @ least it is stable and I seldom watch it anyway other than motorsports or news. Price is okay, would be nice if they included local Baseball

I can add another....ROKU devices to not always work favorably with Directv stream or older Android devices. Had an older Sony android TV, directv app not available for that older android software. So, had an extra ROKU, attached, and sound kept dropping in/out. Directv recommended a Firestick, and that solved the problem. Also had an really old Sony smart TV that turned dumb so had a ROKU attached, it also had the same sound problem. Ordered the least expensive firestick to cure that problem. I will add for years that older sony had a ROKU and never had a problem. But for some reason, ROKU devices do not work that well with Directv. All ROKU devices were at software 12 so the software level was not a problem. Both were ROKU sticks, so can only speak for the stick. Just an added note....

If you get the set top boxes, they have Chromecast built in. Very handy.

Thank you for the video. I was looking for more streaming options tonight during the times i was on hold with youtube tv during a 92 minute phone call trying to get my service back. Last week's call took 60 minutes and worked. Tonight's effort failec and higher ups are supposed to contact me via email. My tv's keep thinking i am in a different home area. Do all you good people find Direct streaming to be relatively trouble free?

directv has bsd services becsuse of at&t services which is horrible but there's good news is, directv is back to stand alone from at&t but is still partners with at&t for now. it's in the works on directv returning back to directv stand alone satellite television just as they were before the merge. i cant waite.

I was grandfathered into DirecTV Stream from AT&T TV. I don't need a Cable 2.0 service myself, but this was a compromise with my wife who insisted we keep live TV. I started with a 2-year contract and have been paying over $90/month after one year of $50/month. I just discovered, but not sure if it has been available since we moved over to DirecTV Stream that I was able to switch to a lower cost plan of $70/month whithout paying the cancelation fee of $15/month left on the contract. The $70/month plan I could switch to didn't have unlimited DVR, so I opted to add $10/month to keep it, in case my wife has more than 20 hours of shows on the DVR. I'm writing this post to make anyone else aware that mar have started a 2-year contract with AT&T TV. I may decide to cancel once I don't have a cancelation fee anymore and sighn up with a new email address to get the unlimited DVR without an extra charge.

Canceled my DIRECTV stream $65. Got discovery+ for $4.99 which as has a lot but not live. On the roku has about 100 channels and the Pluto tv with another 100 or so both free.

I've had Direct TV Stream now for almost a year. We will be ditching it and moving on to something else, because for us it just sucks too much. Here is a list of what you can expect in the real world: 1) The cost: they bring you in on an introductory price (one year for us) and then the price goes up substantially. Now why would you penalize a loyal customer and give a new subscriber a deal? Not very fair and a 'F-U attitude'. 2) Your watching a show, you pause it to do something hoping to come back a pick up where you left off and surprise, it drops the show and goes to real time streaming. Very frustrating. 3) Recorded shows don't always end at exactly the correct time. The show might have another 5 minutes to go to the end of the episode. Too bad, it cuts you off before you've seen the end of the show. Frustrating. 4) They will discontinue various shows from your original package, not tell you until you figure out that you can't get a certain show anymore. WTF? I paid for it, now I don't get it anymore? (and your price doesn't get lower either) 5) You set it to record only new shows, but frequently it records older episodes 2 and 3 times. 6) You don't get unlimited recording UNLESS you pay for it extra. It only comes with 25 hours of recording space. 7) And then sometimes you try to record a show you want to watch (which you can watch it in real time) and it gives you a notice that this show can't be recorded because it's not part of your plan. WTF? If the show wasn't in my package, then how the heck am I getting it at all? Doesn't make sense. NOTES: This is what I have personally experienced. Yours may be different. But for me with the cost increase, I'm ditching them. Not worth the money. I really like to record the local broadcasting shows and be able to skip through the commercials. I think we're going to head towards Tivo. Yes, it costs money to buy the setup, but I figure I'll break even in just a few months and then be ahead of the game. PS - I do have antenna, which I already have in case of power outages.

I signed up for Direct TV stream simply because Dish Network dropped MAVTV and my Regional Sports lineup- THAT I WAS PAYING FOR WITH THE SPORTS PACK. I also paid $120 (one time) for the DTV streaming device I can now take with in my RV. Went from Dish @ $140/month & no regional sports to DTV stream @ $85/month w/regional sports. BTW- it took 6 phone calls to Dish to cancel after being hung-up on 5 times as soon as they knew why I was calling. My guess the employees get dinged for cancelations. I'm hearing DTV might drop OAN network, if so, I'll be shopping again.

However, that ended months ago. OAN and CNN have still never shared a parent company. Also, your "90%" revenue figure is both misguided and outdated.

Hi so I canceled my directv stream free trial the day before it ended but two days later I was still charged but I tried to check the directv account and it just says I can restart the subscription and there’s no option to cancel the subscription

Sounds like a billing issue. Call them and request that the charge be removed. If they refuse, contact your credit card issuer.

I work for AT&T as a rep and kinda not accurate but still nice try. Go to store we demo how it works, you get the new box (it changes your tv into a smart tv if you don’t already have one) and we give the channel listing with prices. There’s a 14 day free trial so you won’t be charged anything until the 14th day. Also canceling is very simple by calling and returning device back to store. Easy and simple. 😁

I have DirectTV. I signed up when it was DIRECT TV NOW online. I have the GO BIG package. I never had a problem recording shows under bookmark. They were always there so when I wanted to view them again, I could. Recently they are deleted and I an no.longer able to watch them. Now I did not delete them. They were suddenly gone. Can you tell me why this happened? Is there a limit as to how long I can keep them?

Another thing to add is they ONLY do auto pay. I currently have Xfinity and they do auto and manual pay. Back when it was AT&T Uverse they had both as well but since they went to this streaming deal its auto pay only. Garbage. I don't auto pay ANYTHING. I'm old school.
