From what I understand, the “rituals” this toy apparently provides are just basic habit-building that can be replicated with ANY book or toy. It’s basically just an association with a routine, so you can just have a designated “bedtime book” or “bedtime plush” that will work just the same… And yes, ANY plush can “promote healthy sleep” if you portray it that way to your child.

As far as I can tell, "ritual" being used in a more scientific context basically just means something that is done on a regular basis, But it could still be anything from brushing your teeth to human sacrifice.
