@Carlosm02tx7 күн бұрын
From the dfw myself I’ve had great luck on Texas rigs and ploppers
@thesouthwes6 күн бұрын
Nice! I haven’t throw Texas rigs as much as I used too. I can never find ponds with any structure in them

I grew up in the neighborhood at that first pond. Have caught many 3 plus pounders all by that tree on the north side.

Good to know! I’ll have to go back there another time

I think the upsetting part is that I had not caught a fish on it yet!

I'm hoping to get out there tomorrow, temps supposed to be in the 50s. Down here in Bama, that's warm for this time of year.
@thesouthwes6 күн бұрын
50s is nice! That’s when I do well on Crankbaits. Goodluck out there!

I used to fish Austin a lot! I fished lady bird and some ponds in the area

It was a gift years ago! I honestly have no idea where it came from… it’s just a decoration now
@JohnnyPetsCats7 күн бұрын
i caught a nice slab crappie at the first small pond. Surprised there was one that big in there.
@thesouthwes6 күн бұрын
I haven’t run into a big crappie in a while! I’ve caught multiple 2 pounders at the second spot in this video. They would eat lipless crankbaits while I was bass fishing
@IIamjj7 күн бұрын
I hate bass fishing in the winter. Imo its slighty easier in places like flordia or texas because its still like 60s or mid 50s during the day. In jersey it's like 35 😭 it should not be that cold rn
@thesouthwes6 күн бұрын
Yeah the truth is that winter in Texas is not the same as anything on the northern half of the states. I have always wanted to try ice fishing though!
@thesouthwes6 күн бұрын
The other side of that is that summers are different as well. The days of 100+ temps run from June-September down here. I’ll take Texas cold over Texas hot
@IIamjj6 күн бұрын
@@thesouthwes oh yeah I gotta get down there soon. Ik the pressure can make the fishing very hard though because a lot of people around your area target bass alot.
@Philliesfan8764 күн бұрын
fr I can’t with these upper 30s to lower 40s. Finally getting some heat for a couple days but it’s gonna go right back to the cold.

@thesouthwes6 күн бұрын
Man I miss the yak, but not enough to get it out! I’m on the second floor of an apartment right now and I store it upstairs. Once I get a house, I’m hoping to upgrade the yak setup and get into it more
