Thanks Darwn for all the information you have given out. On this video of not to use aluminium and steel on balcony I disagree with you. What you said was not the cause of those cracks. The cracks were caused due to the weight of the building because The column were to small and that caused column failure ie buckling and sheer stress.

This is a Bangalow and not a storeyed building, the weight of just a roof cannot buckle a column. Even normal red bricks can hold the weight of a roof, how much more a column. Take note of that. Also make research on Galvanic corrosion.

Boss, it is not buckling and axial loads, what is the slenderness and effective length of that column??. Hope you know the axial load capacity of 200mm D column. And also I think you should do a small review on buckling and it's causes, and squash loads. And further, how does shear come in?? And finally I recommend clients to use good concrete grade for durability (as recommended by a structural engineer).
