To me this looks like a table of fruit, apples, bananas, oranges and grapes....but I love it! When you were deciding whether or not to wreck it more...I was saying "yes, be brave Molly, wreck it more" and you did! I think that is what gave this painting it's life....great expirement!

This is a very cool one. I think I like the pearl paints better on a "non-black" background. Just kind of adds another dimension to the piece. I wonder what would happen if you used the pearl paints as the base coat. Would the colors still show up as it dried or would they get overwhelmed by whatever colors you put on top?

@Littlewings1211

That's awesome, now you (we) know that we can use them on transparent colours and opens up so many more possibilities. You could tailor the base colour to fit the pearls you want to use, so for example, a deep phthalo bottle green base with just the blue, green and violet pearls could make like an Abalone shell effect. I can't wait to see if you can mix these to make different colours, that would be really cool!

I know you aren't enthralled with it, but the thing that saves this piece is the pearl colors showing up so beautifully. And as I first looked at the dried piece, it immediately reminded me of the multitude of colored leaves blowing off the trees during a big wind at the end of Autumn.

These were my thoughts, also. The reason I enjoy watching Molly is her honesty, her curiosity, her love of painting which shows through on every video. Her goal on transparent paint was achieved, so that was a success. Something about the composition for me was ??off, but Molly I think you nailed it on why, they couldn't spread out as much, maybe? I don't know. But I really like how you try new ideas. So, here are some crazy ideas, doing a pearl paint like you do a blow out, no circles, no separate backgrounds, just blowing pearl paint together in waves or flowers, but it would be blindly because you can't see the colors, it's all white!! Lol!! I'm not sure anyone would be up for doing that!! Lol! Here's a tamer idea, pouring it out like you would a wave, but then using your tool and spiraling it like the shape of a tri-colored pasta noodle! Well, I'm just throwing out fun ideas, but I have to be honest, Molly's channel is my favorite of ALL my subscriptions. Thanks, Molly!

I just think this is Beautiful. The wrecking tool is so unique with the wispy and puffed out colors from the slight stretching. It is interesting how the lighter base dried so much darker, close to the paynes gray. Kinda like feathers floating down. I really love how your experiment was what you were hoping for on the transparent colors. Can't wait for your next.

I’m not sure why, but this painting reminds me of something from a Dr. Seuss book. I believe it’s the lines in the designs that give it that feel for me. I agree with you in that another tool with not as many thin lines would have worked better. However, it is still a good painting.
