This is something I’ve always felt very strong about and discussed with my dad who is a very religious man. Had to click as soon as I saw the topic.

Suicide is a mental illness . My brother died by suicide. But he loved God and was a born again Christian. God understands mental illness. It’s something we cannot control. Therefore God Forgives Suicide of those that are his. I truly believe this.

Thanks for sharing your and yours brother story. God loves all people and everybody that accepts God will join his kingdom we call heaven! If a person dies its the people that loved them that misses them and will have grievances about the lost, sorry for your lost but I'm sure you will see your brother, and others that past before you again

Suicide isn't exactly mental illness in a lot of cases. A good amount of people lose so much or simply have nothing to keep living for and/or are not wanting to keep trying to have things to live for. It reaches a point of logic where there's clarity without mental illness. I met a homeless man who decided to freeze to death outside because his wife took everything from him in divorce and he decided he was too old to work towards anything and had no desire to.
@loricook2188Ай бұрын
@@TheGreatAustino It still is a mental illness. Humans are not made or conditioned to want to die. The Human mind is a powerful thing. We all have the desire to fight to live just as someone who is told they have terminal cancer. They want so badly to live but they cannot control their situation. They didn’t ask to get cancer it just happens. Same thing with Suicidal thoughts. No one wants their life to end but sometimes these thoughts cannot be controlled no matter what you do and in the end it wins. It’s not that the person wanted to die even if they have lost everything or feel hopeless. It’s the strong powerful mind that takes over. Some people are strong enough to control this and seek help and not go through with it, but sadly others mental state isn’t that strong and so they succeed in ending their life. So yes Suicide is the final outcome of mental illness. God doesn’t blame us or punish us for things out of our control. After all he created our bodies and brain and minds. He’s a merciful God and forgives those who aren’t as strong mentally.

I had a closed friend, back in 1973, he was home on leave from Air Force. He got jealous when he found out his girlfriend was going to homecoming with someone else. That night he committed suicide, his friends found him next morning dead in abandoned barn.

Granger, I’ve loved watching you and your family through the years. That being said, I really need to strongly disagree. My brother died by suicide nearly four years ago. He didn’t “commit” anything. He lost his life to a lifetime battle with his mental health. He didn’t commit murder…. Most ridiculous description I’ve heard yet. Just as a cancer patient loses their battle even after trying chemotherapy or radiation or immunotherapy to rid their body of that cancer condition, mental health IS a health condition. Same as a person loses their life to a massive heart attack after trying medications or life style alterations to improve their heart health condition, mental health IS a health condition. My brother, along with so very many others, fought a lifetime battle. He did all the things- he tried medications to improve his depression and anxieties and thought of self-harm. He exercised He tried therapy. He spoke with his closest confidant. He busied himself in his family and in his work. He loved and believed in God. I’m betting he begged God to make him well. Using just a couple of examples above, of all of those sick people who’ve lost their lives, if they indeed believe in Jesus and have faith and repent their sins, they all go to Heaven. THAT is the Christian belief. We don’t get to choose who goes to Heaven, God does. It is outdated in life and Christianity to not educate yourself on Mental Health Awareness. With your platform, I beg of you to do so. Thank you! 🩵💜

My question is actually in the Bible. It says thou shall not kill and I am wondering does thou shall not kill mean animals or does it just mean people because I’m a hunter eater but I would definitely go vegan for God
@SteveW79-2KАй бұрын
I have heard that a more accurate translation is "murder", not kill. If it was "kill" in general, just being alive would be a sin. Everyday you kill something, whether you're aware or not. Even vegetables are alive at some point. You consuming them as food requires them to be killed. I believe the biblical application would be more accurately described as the intentional seeking to murder another human being.

Dangerously close to saying Martin Luther wasn't really the person to start or reason for the reformation. I realize there were others that went different directions with theology. Would the reformation have happened otherwise? Maybe I don't know history as well as I should. If not then don't try and change history, or downplay the role a particular person had played. To many people are trying to rewrite history.

I don't believe it could commit suicide. You go to heaven just like when you do adultery. It says death so II don't believe suicide. You go to heaven. You should know better and you should get help if you're that bad.
@frosty7154Ай бұрын
you really don't have to go to church all you have to do is read your Bible. Jesus just wants a relationship with us. going to church it's not going to save you. Jesus never made a church. half a churches don't even go on mission trips. they just focus on their churches. if Jesus was here and his disciples they would go to every state and spread the gospel. we supposed to do the same works as Jesus done greater Works. I know some Churches preach you have to get baptized to go to heaven. you don't even have to get baptized to go to heaven. Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved

God is very real. I spent several years homeless due to addiction. I started crying out to God and he showed up. A lot of supernatural experiences that most wouldn't believe but he has since completely changed my heart and my life. I have been sober for 3 years and been off the street three years come Jan. I work two jobs and my bills have been paid so far by the grace of God. God also gave my 3 children back 😭❤️🙌🏼 I had almost given up and even gad taken a box cutter to my wrist. Somehow it barely bled. I was angry at God because he wouldn't let me die. I was in a very cold city and outside and it was hard. But God chose to save me I had to die to myself and he has rebuilt me. He loves you and wants you. If God can save a homeless junkie like me I know he can do anything. It's his delight to save people. He can change your desires so they align with his. It's such a beautiful thing. Don't give up ❤❤

Wrong question since no one "goes to heaven" when they die unless they are a martyr. Everyone else is "sleeping' or "resting" until the resurrection. The right question is do sinners (those who break God's law 1Jn 3:4) inherit eternal life at the resurrection? The answer is "NO." Suicide is just one of the many transgressions of God's law.
@Juliusiezure13 күн бұрын
Assuming that the first part is correct, which is debatable but I don’t have much of an opinion about, yes they do, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”- Romans 3:23. Everyone is a sinner everyone who has ever lived has sinned except for Jesus. If the answer was no than nobody would receive eternal life

Hebrews 6:4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
