I went through a very traumatizing situation with a sextortionist, and I'm making this comment to hopefully help anybody who is going though a similar situation. First of all, I was so stressed I wanted to die. I stayed awake for 48 hours straight and I ended up sending this person $125 of my hard earned money to hopefully keep them from releasing these pictures of me. They kept asking for more, but thankfully I didn't have the money they wanted. I blocked them and days went by, I probably slept but a few hours over the entire next week. Wondering if my pictures would be released, knowing I had made a terrible mistake. Eventually, as time went by, I grew to look at the situation from a new point of view and it started to seem almost comical to me. The pictures still haven't been released, (as far as I am aware) and I basically ruined a whole month of my life worrying about it. Even if the pictures DID get released, it wouldnt be worth the stress I put myself through. What honestly helped me, was thinking about all these pornstars and onlyfans creators openly releasing explicit images of themselves with no regard for what others may think. Maybe a few years ago it'd be a bit more shocking to the public, but lets be honest, nudity is becoming normalized. At least you can have some peace in knowing you definitely aren't the only one. Not only that, but we all have the same body parts (male or female) and we all make mistakes. If your pictures get released, it'll all blow over and be forgotten about after awhile anyways. And hell, some girl might see your nudes and maybe she likes what she sees. 😂

Thank you for sharing this. And that’s a really insightful way of thinking about it with pornstars and OF. Just went through the same thing but ended up changing out $800. Luckily nothing has been shared, even though they sent a picture of them sending stuff to my family (they never received any messages or pictures or anything). Knowing I’m not alone on this and people have dealt with the same thing really does make you feel less alone in this.

@@Gaagaagoogoo677 I’ve never really used Reddit much, other than reading some of it online but not with actually having an account. This particular feed I read, really did help a lot. Mainly just hearing that a large number of people never heard anything, or never had any of the claims from their abusers actually followed through with, which even just reading that was a big weight off my chest, and started to help ease all the “what-if’s”, or at least start to. And at the end of the day… the worst case scenario wouldn’t be significantly damaging. Although I’m hoping the odds of nothing being followed through with are in my favor. Haven’t heard anything today, or seen any strange activity on my Facebook page after making the settings more restrictive/changing my password. Hoping this is a good sign 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Chances they won’t leak anything, just ignore and move with your life. They just want money , and don’t fall for the recovery scam bs. They would just make it worse by contacting the scammer

This happened to me yesterday. I was dumb to get into this trap. After having my picture they started to threaten me for spreading this picture to my Instagram followers. But when the sent me screenshots of the chats I was shocked and immediately I blocked them from everywhere and deactivated the account. Till now they have not sent any photos to any of my friends. Even if they release them the reputational damage will blow over eventually and you’ll be able to get your life back together, whether the threats are empty or not you must not pay because that’ll only incentivise the blackmailer to keep demanding more money with no end It’s better to just have your life ruined rather than lose money and have your life ruined at the same time Or even better than that don’t be sharing intimate photos or videos with strangers or anyone for that matter

This happened to me when I was about 14 maybe 15. I put myself through wayyy more stress than necessary at all. I stayed up for 36 hours straight, having no idea what to do. The scammer asked for $1500 which I obviously did not have at 15. I ended up blocking them and deleting my Instagram account as a whole. It has been over 3 years and, as far as I know, the pictures did not ever get sent. Too much work for them I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️. If you are going through this same thing I would 100% recommend telling a parent or the authorities. The scammer is 9 times out of 10 looking for a minor, whose brain is not fully developed to attack, which you guessed it, is spreading CP!! Which is crazy illegal!!

Lol. I had one of these happen to me today. It was honestly s stressful at first but the process took place on insta and they showed me my photos. Using this I reported the account and stalled until Instagram checked my report filed. At this point i blocked the person on IG, reported the account, and told people using IG story to not respond or add the person. I'm still scared out of my mind. But at the same time, fxck it. I'm not going to loose sleep over this. If it gets out there to friends and fam. Well, it'll be a funny story in about 5 years from now, until then i can handle a "little" embarrassment. I'm with you on this brother. The main lesson is don't fall for a girl you don't know. As the big man said in his comment.

Make your accounts private. Make your friend list only visible to you. Block him and don’t accept any new friend requests. Also change your sign in settings to two-way authentication this way if someone tries to log into your accounts you will be alerted. Also for any tagged photos set your settings in privacy to view for approval. That means no one can post anything to your account unless you approve it first. Change all passwords don’t use any passwords from the past.

Best way to avoid them sending it out is to make sure they have absolutely no way of contacting you. Try to make yourself a forgettable victim for them, just buy yourself a bit of time, then deactivate all your socials, and report them before if you can, just make sure they CAN NOT contact you by any means. If they have no way of contacting you, they have no reason to send the pictures, and will just forget about you and move on to an easier target. Remember they have nothing personal against you, they only want your money. They don't genuinely want to send the videos out, and if they have no way of contacting you, they have no way of receiving money from you, therefore they have no reason to send your pictures out.

So it’s happened to me awhile ago, but I need an answer for this: I wasn’t asked for money but I know this was sextortion once this person immediately sent screenshots of me and sends a list of my followers and copy and paste their scripts and puts this emoji “😡😡😡” and said something about they will send this to my followers and ruin my life, even if I block this person cuz they apparently have all my list of followers. But money wasn’t mentioned. So the question is that do these scammers actually send these photos to your followers or is that something that’s a part of their tactics to get a scare from you to get the potential to get money off from you? It’s most likely the second question, but I’m just curious if anybody has any experience where they were sextorted and got their personal things sent to a follower, let me know. And if that’s never the case either way, that sounds more relieving. I’m just concerned considering that money wasn’t involved in my case and I’m just now thinking about how they can use my images to create a scam using my image to others I may know. I need to know.

This was today so same her bro except it was a gift card basically this person got my face picture and my Willy but I said I have no money and I’m 15 but they said go get your parents card but I couldn’t do that so instead I blocked this person in Snapchat and I deleted my account on insta temporarily but after that I change my username and everything in snap and insta and stupid of me to unblock this person on snap but I already change everything about me and also after that I tried reporting this person on Snapchat before I blocked and I was basically stalling time by just being quiet when we were in a call and also plus I tried searching for this persons username on both social media but it was not there looks like they could have remove me and blocked me or they got terminated so I hope everything will turn out ok

This is currently happening to me I text them something to make them think I’ll pay and then I just ignore everything they say the keep saying theyll do it but haven’t sent anything to my followers on Instagram they called me and I literally acted like a little kid and asked them if they watch one piece and they said yeh they said they already seen gear 5 because I guess in the Philippines they get the episodes early.after that they got more serious again about mr sending them 300 dollars and I just ignore them despite the fact that they say they will ruin my life. I wonder if she got mad cause she didn’t get the reaction she was looking for The way I see it most scammers rely on manipulating peoples emotions if they can get that one person to use their emotions against them then they succeeded but if that one person challenges them or defies them then they get upset cause someone stood up to them I’m sort of going through this currently (on telegram) but I don’t even care, I’m 45 and when I had a Snapchat everyone saw my nude (i didn’t just outright give it to them, I only gave it to them when they asked)

@@yungborho4195 thank you a lot for saying this. I got the same experience 2 days ago. someone tried to threatening me by publishing my photos (half nude) if i didn’t sent full nudes. I blocked him but i got requests of people that want to follow me that i didn’t know. So i think he published my photos on his story on snaptchat. I unblocked him to see what he had posted but he blocked me as well so i can’t see it. But I already reported him and i have filed a report on the help centre on snapchat.

This just happened to me, they have no information on me other than my phone number, first name and face, I’ve changed all my social media’s to all be private and not have my face in the profile pictures so they can’t find me, I’ve contacted a helpline but I can’t do anything without a legal guardian. This happened to me yesterday met someone on an app moved over to Facebook they asked to send nudes but said not screenshots or anything I told them I was nervous but they kept pestering me so I did what the person said they said they were 22 and then changed there age to 20 saving I was trying to force the person into sex but then said if I don’t pay up they will show the pictures to my family and friends and apparently said I should be arrested for apparently trying to force the scammer into sex I don’t have the pictures the scammer sent of the girl but I do know the scammer is from Lagos Nigeria
