It’s clear that David Stearns wants to build a winner and gear for 2025. He was able to build a winner in Milwaukee and have been competitive throughout his tenure. We have an owner that will spend for the right players. Let’s be patient.

What would be the signings in the off season of the 2024 season prior to 2025 that would make the Mets suddenly go from being a non winning team to being a winner in 2025? Its very hard to make a team great in one off season
@95Comics10 ай бұрын
How does building for 2025 mean tanking 2024? Why don’t they just sign players for more than one season and then they can consider part of building 2025 as the same thing as building for 2024 because if this team that supposedly has so much money, just sign, Bellinger and Snell it’s wildly different team, and that could definitely be considered a contender

@@benjaminwatlers1848 You are absolutely correct. By 2025, they will be better able to assess who they want to keep, trade and sign in free agency. Stearns has a track record of building a poor team into a consistent Play Off team on a small payroll. Our Mets won’t have that issue.

This is a good point - Mets don’t have big arms at the top of rotation but they have great depth. If we had this depth last year it would have insulated us against injuries a little more. All this negativity in the comments is silly and shows the emotion of Mets fans not the intelligence Mets fans are known for - all of you have NO idea what will happen this year just like you had NO idea last year when we had 2 HOF aces and a 22 batting champ. My guess, which is as bad as all of yours, is that this team is better than 23, which means more wins and a shot at wildcard.

If the Mets have depth than it is 5th starter type depth; which usually 5th starters aren’t the guy you want to build around. Even if you have 1-2 solid at the front the bottom 3-4-5 are going bring you down like a lead weight. Bullpen is not strong or deep to bridge the gap between them and closer. Are people forgetting that the Mets were horrible in 2023; especially the 2nd half after trading away. They just never were a good solid team. Now to make the Mets better in 2024 they have basically signed a defensive first center and a back end of the rotation pitcher. Fans than thinking the Mets are a good team. They will be horrible
