Do These Fishing Reels SUCK?!?!? (Lew's Reels Review)

I have been very impressed with each of the Lew's reels that I have owned. So much so that I have slowly made almost my entire inventory of bait casting reels nothing but Lew's.

When I first started fishing with bait cast reels. I used Bass pro reels for years. I keep hearing good talk about Lew's reels and got one. So far I am using nothing but lew's now and have had good luck with all of them even the cheap one seem to hold up for the money. Thanks for the review

Love my Lew’s reels. What speed gear ratio do you use for topwater prop baits? Like a plopper or a wake bait?

Midwest Bass Hunter I like a 6.8:1 for that kind of stuff. I think it helps with that slow and steady retrieve.

Great teaching I just got into the baitcasters and I thought the better gear ratio was good for all fish. But you explained that very well. I have the zeboco 33 platinum, I caught a fee nice size bass on it over 4 to 5 pounds and it's sound like a duck when I cast it. 😂😂. My first baitcatser is a PFLUEGER Monarch (MON73LP) model number and its very smooth. I got one from Temu today in the mail 8-31-2023 and it's on the ay back it was $20 and it was plastic like a toy. Thanks for the reason why you need to change ratios because I didn't know brother thanks.

I got the LFS same reel, had it for 5 months, started to feel gritty i cleaned it and oiled it, still feels gritty when reeling in only? Not the rod either i switched em out still does it

I have Lews, ABUs, Diawas, Shimanos, Shakespeares, and old Ryobi V-Mags. about 20 total baitcasters when all said and done, I prefer Lews #1, and ABU #2, Shimano #3....

Dude, that lithium/lews combo is legit. My combo of choice is lithium and kovert lt with a lews. I prefer the superduty g. Most bang for your buck. Has an aluminum sideplate.

There is nothing superduty about any reel with a graphite frame. I do like the superduty 300. I have 2 of those.

I just got new ABU Garcia MAX Z left and the new Lew's classic right combo which one is better 🤔 just took them out yesterday first time. Never owned Lew's ⁉️ less fiberglass or more fiberglass that is the question ❓ one more one less but both is medium Rod's but different bow on them. Like the casting about the same almost. Good video make me think

I haven’t used the Max Z but I would still probably lean towards the classic in that scenario. When I used Abu Garcia, they never held up as well as other similarly priced reels. Now to be clear, I never bought any reel of any brand that was in the upper echelons of price. So I have no idea if their more expensive stuff is any better.

I've had my Abu 5000 since 2007. Nothing wrong with it. Tried lews I just could never get the spool adjusted enough to stop the backlash. Went back to my 2007 baitcaster. It's set to my standards. Lol

@stevebasingerfishing after getting so many backlash out of the lews, I'm afraid to try anything new. 😅 I also have a 1983 5200 abu also set to my standards. Maybe gonna try the KD lews and a newer abu. Will let you know. I was even thinking of crossing over to spinner. Decisions, Decisions.

Shimano and Daiwa. Penn for catfishing. I have had quite a few lews and have had issues with every single one. The build quality on them is so under par in my opinion.

Really? I have had no issues at all with my Lews. Granted, this was all with bass fishing. Have had issues with some of my lower end Diawa reels.

I like my lews reels but I'm always catching g myself with my diawas in hand. Guess I've tried them all but kast king and 13 fishing. They all make pretty good stuff but my diawas just fish better.

I have 45 Lew's reels. I've had one bearing fall apart in one of them. And, an issue with the drag slipping on a reel that I already knew was a POS. Store exclusive combo with Lew's name on it, so who even knows if the parts are all Lew's.

Dont buy 13 fishing reels theyre crap they dont last for me. Lews even some abu garcia are better buget reels. Lews products are my favorite so far. Ive got an abu garcia that ive had for about 4yrs done no maintenance on it caught some 7lb bass on it and no problems yet🤞🤞🤞

Keep up with the times. Lews USED TO have the best customer service when Lews owned the company and was based in Springfield Missouri. Now you just take your chances. Now I heard Zebco/Quantum bought the company. GOOD LUCK! I think Quantum reels are crap!!!
