Been working on my character for a while using an application called PureRef! It's a great way to organize things without constantly re-making the scrapbook (though I do keep fiddling around with image placement haha)

Unfortunately for me, I already decided to make a 3D model without a reference sheet because I have no 2D art skills. It's very difficult, and I don't recommend it, but it can be done.

Absolutely! You can use 2d models. You can even start with just a png that lights up if that is all you have.
