Do They Know It's Christmas - 2020 Tribute (Band Aid Cover)

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I collaborated with a few friends on a cover of “We Are the World” as a tribute to our essential workers. This holiday season, we decided to come together once again to create a 2020 rendition of “Do They Know It’s Christmas” by Band Aid, and we dedicate this video to everyone who’s struggled with their own challenges this year.
While the words are relevant today, we put our own twist on the lyrics to focus on hope and a brand new start in 2021. One of my favorite words of wisdom states that staying positive doesn’t mean being happy all the time, but knowing that even the most trying times will eventually get better. As this difficult year comes to an end, I believe it’s important to remember that EVERYONE is essential, and that you are not alone.
With more than twice the amount of participants compared to our last virtual collab, this is by far the most ambitious project I’ve taken on, and I could not have made this happen without each and every one of these talented musicians. We’re so glad to be joined by some familiar faces, as well as many new friends, and a special thank you to the amazing Cadenza String Orchestra!
