P1; thank you, Bevin! Last time I talked to him in person, it was at the gym we both went to (I no longer do). I offered to take him to Lunch after and he turned me down, telling me "he needed to lose a little weight, otherwise he would". We caught up and he was making a lot of statements about values (I didn't ask), going so far as saying he "didn't talk to anyone anymore" and he suggested I just "turn my phone off". Avoidant behavior, yes, absolutely...but I understood it to mean he was trying to calibrate and wasn't sure what part I played in that. I asked him how he would feel if WE never spoke again, implying that he would be upset. He briefly considered it, shrugged, but seemed quietly disturbed I would even suggest not being part of his life anymore. Haven't talked since 😂 Last talked over 2mos ago! I was wondering what he had been up to and I had an inclination this was it.

Wow... I can't thank you enough for this. Pile 2 was exactly what I needed to hear! Yesterday, I cried to my therapist, asking her how weak I felt if he was to come back. That I felt not ready at all to stand my ground, protect myself, etc. Everything mentioned in this pile applies to my situation.
