Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" kzbin.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

When i worked at a tire shop i always hand tourqed lug nuts with a tourqe wrench. The nicest thing about extended anvil impacts in a tire shop is being able to have a say 19mm, 21mm flip socket which would cover most cars and trucks that would come into a tire shop
@Shoptoolreviews

Yes, that is a very good point. The flip sockets work very well with this. Thanks for watching.

I feel like the lug nut test should have been done with actual lug nuts not just standard bolts. The way in which those two different fasteners tighten down are quite different. Lug nuts use a taper to create extra friction where as a bolt is purely based on the friction in the threads

I've had the 2769 for over a year, and it is still going strong. In combination with a torque wrench, it is excellent for tire work. I have seen reviews of torque sticks that showed they can have a considerable variance from their listed specs, so I do not trust them.
@EdwardEardley
@EdwardEardley 10 ай бұрын
Torque sticks are +/- 10%. So using a 90 ft-lb stick will result between 80-100 ft-lb. Not perfect but much better than the huge variation you'll get using an impact gun. Want accuracy? I always use a torque wrench which is +/- 3%.

@@EdwardEardley I agree. It is a must to use a torque wrench, whether using torque sticks or an impact wrench with the ability to select torque ranges.

Torque sticks all the way. I use a 80 on my 2767 set at speed 2 and it works great, then I come back with a torque wrench set to 100 ft-lbs and always get a slight turn from every lug I torque. So much easier than using a one key and messing around with the app, etc. Also, keep in mind all impact wrenches work different with torque sticks. Torque sticks work better with large impact wrenchs that hit hard slowly. The small impact wrenches they don't work too well as they hit light too often.

i would have bought it if you could set to what FT-lbs you want it to reach instead of it being a range it will stop at. i also dont like the extended anvil
@EdwardEardley
@EdwardEardley 10 ай бұрын
Torque sticks were designed/tuned (material, diameter, taper and length) to work with an impact tool putting out about 600 ft-lbs. So if you're using a 900 ft-lb (forward torque) tool, your result can be very different. So if your torque sticks dont specify a TOOL rating, then make sure you're using a tool like IR-231C.

The air impact was a bad demo. Torque sticks are to be calibrated to air pressure and the dial on the impact wrench. Also the faster hitting impact wrench does not give time for the spring steel torque stick to rebound properly. Can’t use a cordless impact with torque sticks. Do the test with 90 psi and a CP734 and you’ll see positive results. Technician education helps as well.

Out of all the countless times I've been to tire shops in my life, I've literally never seen ANY tire shop use a torque wrench or torque sticks, they always just hammer the lug nuts on with the impact gun for a few seconds and call it good.

Damn thats crazy. Im in construction now but when i was first out of high school i was a tire guy at ntb and a torque wrench was mandatory. We had to sign the paperwork that we torqued the wheels and then also get another tech to sign off saying he witnessed that the wheels were torqued. We had torque sticks but no1 ever used them jus the torque wrench

I honestly feel like the extended anvil is silly, at least in terms of the tire guy using it. Because even with the power loss of using an extension, you're still gonna have way more than enough torque to take off lug nuts, and you can take off the extension and use it like normal.

I can see that some may not care for it, but I don't think you can say it's silly. There are plenty who love them and see the need for them. Thanks for watching.
@JBPlaysGames1

@@Shoptoolreviews I suppose silly may sound kind of harsh lol. I just think in terms of tire shops, you achieve the same result with a standard length one and an extension. That way, even though it's still a chunker, you save a little space when need be as well.

@@johnargumaniz9179 Actual tire shops are using air though. Would you buy this just for your personal vehicles? I have the ridgid high torque and I'm not a professional. If Ridgid came out with an extended anvil version what would be the benefit to me vs using an extension? Literally nothing.

Torque wrenches are for tightening, not loosening and should never be used to loosen. You will screw up your calibration.

I was wondering more about the precicion mode. I have not been able to find anyone that show that. maybe you could make a video on that that shows what each level shows for fastening torque. I know you stated level ten is roughly around 550 but I would like to see each individual mode or if someone could give could me a calculation on each number from 1-20 thanks. Sincerely Brad

That's too small of an impact to use. My slow but hard hitting aircat stops dead in it's tracks with a torque stick. And it's within 10%. Never had one come loose, never pulled threads. I've used them for years.

I have seen tests showing no difference in final torque values between the short anvil and long anvil guns. I like the LA especially for class 8 dually wheels. I also Cary one in my personal vehicle for emergencies. The LA gun and two flip sockets cover most vehicles on the road.

Cool. I have a 65 ft lb torque stick (ABN) which tightens to just under 76 (lug nuts) going for 3 sec. Then I finish it off with a torque wrench to 76. Any longer than 3 sec, and it goes over final torque. I over did all 20 lug nuts before I figured that out. I used an older Dewalt 1/2" drive compact impact (brushed) with 4Ah XR battery.

Definitely don’t rely on the One Key to set the final torque. I relied on it without coming back with a torque wrench, after I drove my car I noticed 3 lugs had come off 😖
@Shoptoolreviews
@Shoptoolreviews Жыл бұрын
Absolutely not, it's not meant for that. It's meant to get you in the window without over-torqueing so you can come back with a torque wrench to finish the process.
