I have high “d” third above octave ( tenor)

Excellent. The overtones on low Bb continue up the octave tree well into the altissimo zone....

What’s your setup there and, what on the neck for the mouth piece ☮️🎶🎵🎷
@davegoodsax3 күн бұрын
@@kwootamuckbear9294 the horn is a Conn 6M. The serial number dates it as a 1946 manufacture. The appliance on the neck/mouthpiece join is a device Conn eventually discontinued called a microtuner. Instead of pushung or pulling the mouthpiece on the neck to find tune, one simply dials the microtuner left or right and the mechanism moves inside the neck itself to find tune. My mouthpiece is a Meyer 5M, stock lig, and La Voz medium reed

What is your recommendation on how to to start a note: with air or tongue attack? In case of a tongue attack what is the tongue position?

Great question. Low Bb can be difficult to start with air only, especially in the beginning. I suggest tonguing the note. Practice without the mouthpiece by saying either "two" or "tah". Notice where your tongue touches the roof of your mouth behind your teeth? Now repeat the exercise with the mouthpiece in place. If the note won't launch, try taking more mouthpiece by sliding your lower lip only toward the ligature in tiny increments.

If I understand properly, you press LOW B FLAT and blow air thoroughly to sound MIDDLE B FLAT and then F. Thank you.
