The only thing I would add is that in the 4 step, when he decides to aproach, don´t just come and ask for the phone number, instead do some small talk and see how she reacts. Funny story, in one of my college classes I would always look in the direction of the most attractive girl in our class (weren't many since it was a stem-related class). The thing is, I'm short-sighted (can't see far clearly) and I hated wearing my glasses unless it was absolutely necessary, so here I was staring at her without knowing when to stop because I couldn't see her eyes for a reaction (my normal reaction would be to look away to not be caught checking anyone out since I was always on the shy side). Guess what, that same girl would try to get my attention (in very sly and subtle ways) by getting in the way of my bag after lab sessions and sitting all of a sudden right in front of me during lecture sessions. Part of me thinks it was the inadvertent intensity of casually staring into her soul without fear/backing off unlike the shy kid I normally was.
