Nice video 😊 As my PS5 Pro stand vertically, I don't have the impression that simple USB A to C like you showed adapters are stressing the USB C port as much as if the console was standing horizontally. I regularly plug my arcade stick this way so far to play Tekken 8 but by security I may consider buying the kind of adapter you showed in you video. 😉 That would be dumb to damage my PS5 Pro USB C front ports. 😅

Yes for the sake of a very small amount of money it does feel a lot safer!

What about a usb A extension also then, you could plug it in the back and just tuck away when you’re not using it 👍🏻

I don't like extension boxes - I one had a wheel fry itself from being plugged into one - also I need to change things around often - use my mic in the PC for example - and don't want to leave the wheel permanently plugged in, so using the little extension adapter works best for me 🙂

Or just get a magnetic data cable. You can leave the magnetic bit plugged in all the time, and if it gets yanked on, no issue.

Even Sony's on Pulse3D headphones need a USB-A Dongle thats worse when plugged into the back, so should be in the front.

How loud/ hot does your pro run?

He talks about it in his 1 week update video. Very quiet.

Pretty cool - I did a vid about it really recently - the 1 week review one - it seems to have got a little quieter since launch 🙂

I was looking at getting one of these as my headset dongle is type A and when plugged in the back it seems to suffer from interference

Worth a try!

Sony's own PlayStation Pulse Elite Wireless Headset requires a dongle which is... you guessed it, USB-A!
@Michael.TalbotКүн бұрын
I plugged mine in the back, it still works like normal 👍
@orr-man5065Күн бұрын
@Michael.Talbot It's what I've done with mine. But the 'connect' button is on the front of the dongle and just seems a bit odd to me that Sony's own peripherals require and are designed based on a USB-A on the front!
@Michael.TalbotКүн бұрын
@@orr-man5065 I think they should of put a USB A on the front but as for my elite dongle i do not want to see it tbh and i never unplug it, I am thinking of getting a steering wheel so that might be annoying but right now i do not plug much into my PlayStation. I was thinking of getting a short USB A male to female extension lead and trying that when i need it i guess it would work but i have never tried it.
@honestrobКүн бұрын
Yep, they should have left a type A USB at the front for sure. Strange decision!
@Michael.TalbotКүн бұрын
@@honestrob Agreed, BTW the only thing i plug into the front of my pro is my PSVR2 and i use a magnetic adapter, i think that is better than the extension lead Rob is using tbh but only if there is a USB C to A version. It puts no stress on the port at all.

Good idea.. maybe an USB-C to USB-A hub would also be a good idea as they won't cost much more then the adapter cable you showed in the video. I just checked, those USB-C to USB-A hubs cost around 10 bucks. The only downside of all this of course is the gordian knot that once again will establish around the console 🤷♂😆
@honestrobКүн бұрын
Cheers! Yea they are super ugly those hubs - I will stick to the not quite as hideous thing I have now haha! 😀

What about a usb c hub with , Usb A ports ? 🤓

Have had a wheel fry before from using one so never again for me with those.
