I honestly love this video. He listened to our feedback, he listened to what we had to say about the other channels and he is actively fixing it. The thing is, he isn't just fixing it... he is elevating his team and the studio, he is constantly educating himself in the best way possible. Seriously, the BEST Exec out there right now. He genuinely cares so that everyone can succeed; he is also providing opportunities for his team to improve within the company. I actually am very looking forward to this channel to be informed in the best way possible. I have always looked up to you, Matt and as much as I love your old content, you have matured and developed this awesome company that has helped a lot of people and also impacted a lot of peoples lives. Sorry, I am going on this little rant (if you can call it that) but I am seriously in awe of the growth Matthias has shown throughout his career on KZbin. Whether it is his growing family, his growing company, etc., I am impressed and inspired! This channel wouldn't just help somebody starting a KZbin channel, it also helps somebody starting their own company, non-profit, etc. Keep it up, Matt! You are inspiring!!!

Please keep it coming! We love hearing from you more again and in such a personal and passionate way. Even if I am not a natural leader (I call myself an adviser because I am off the charts introverted) there is so much I can learn from growing a business at your level. I am fascinated with personality and psychology and I can't remember exactly but I think you mentioned before that you're introverted as well? I'd be curious to know how you balance your energy levels and still feel accomplished at the end of the day.

so far i like this channel because, my sister set up her own talent agency with her best friend, and so i know the building that business from the perspective of brother and intern, so seeing more of the business end of the studio and seeing where it converges and diverges from what she's had to do is interesting to me. it sounds like a plug, its not, found entertainment, their ethos echos yours in a way, it marries traditional business with forward thinking contenct and clients. each client is an expert in their field and has a mission statement they work towards.

I'm probably on the older side of your audience but I enjoy this channel very much. I'm a busy college student so these video essay type videos is something I can easily enjoy without having to take away from my work. I can simply learn by listening. I'm enjoying the mature and businessy type channel more than others to be honest. I've always wondered how a continuously growing buisness like Hi5 Studios worked but there really wasn't a channel to ask or learn. I'm probably in the minority but just straight comedy videos can get old for me. Thank you for creating this channel as a community learning outlet. Like I said, I'm a busy college student (something you, Matthias, and probably many other people, can understand) and I'm constantly struggling with how to manage my time to put out the best work that I can. I'm also very interested in how you manage as a leader and are constantly growing from that. Last year I took a Humanities Leardership class and we learned amazing outlets and ways to be a leader in any type of business, career, and our own life, so I'm always looking forwards to learning new ways at being the kind of leader that those around me can relate to, that can be inspired by, and I can be inspired by them. I know a lot of this probably doesn't make much sens (I'm typing this while studying for my Chem 2 test) but I just wanted to say that I am enjoying this channel and where it is going, and I can't wait to learn new things in the next video. Thank you again. (And congrats on the new, coming, addition to your family. Amanda, you, Luna, and the new little one will be in my prayers as ya'll prepare for this exciting time.)

Matthias you seem to be worrying about the potential and quality of Hi5 videos so here me out :- 1. You are one of a kind, a person who is constantly in desire for more experience and education, which is an awesome personality. 2. You take KZbin as a business and with that mindset, the crew has come pretty far. Amazing! 3. You need not be over conscious about your channels, they are doing great with your leadership. 4. I really recommend not keeping the people at Hi5 at complete competition and rush. And I don't think that happens but just in case. 5. The other thing which effects your Dope or Nope videos, is when you guys start acting weird and exagerate randomly. No, I am serious it looks like we are watching a kid show. 6. As you mentioned in the video, you have good plans and I hope they turn out well... Best of Luck!!

Well, you opened the floodgates to asking any questions about our channels, so... I figured I'd ask about my not yet existent one. A bit of background: I'm planning on making an animation/gaming channel. Basically, an animation channel that once I get more comfortable talking into a camera I'm going to transition into more of a gaming channel with some animation. I'm having a few difficulties with starting this channel, however, for one reason: Stress. I'm scared I'll stress myself out too much or will start the channel and find that I lack the motivation to keep it going. I'm in high school with massive amounts of social anxiety. I don't really have an outlet for my thoughts and ideas and sharing things in person scares me, so I thought I'd make a channel as a bit of an outlet. As much as I want and really am looking forward to starting my very own KZbin channel, I'm scared that I'll find it far too stressful. I have trouble relaxing as it is, and nothing seems to really help. I'm also scared that this stress will cause me to procrastinate on videos and cause me to lose time to keep the channel going, inevitably killing the channel. Is there any advice you might have on making sure that work isn't terribly stressful? (I understand maintaining a channel is a responsibility and will cause me to stress, I just want to know how I can keep that stress minimal.)

This is incredible! We review our mission statement every January. Defining your why. What is your process for finding what niche you should target? I feel in my business is where I struggle the most. Thank You again for sharing Matt! This stuff is good!
@AskMatthias5 жыл бұрын
For me I believe it should stem naturally from the belief and the why. When it does, I find that I am far more compelled to see it through than some arbitrary relevance point.

This is some really insightful helpful stuff! It's great because I don't think it only applies to running a youtube channel, I can see some aspects of it being useful other places. I am for sure going to check out everything on the site. I recently started my own channel just for fun and to be an outlet and I know I need to focus on making sure I'm recording everything, keeping track of the footage etc. I've had at least 2-3 videos now where I forgot to record so i'm missing chunks of the thing I was doing. I'm looking forward to the things I can learn and apply to daily life and my channel.

I understand that this is probably not the right video to say this on, but I’m going to comment it anyway. I don’t know if it’s just me, but personally I would enjoy watching more “teen-rated” content. I don’t know how you would be able to do this, considering that your business is all family-friendly, but an idea is you could possibly create another channel that’s for teens, so parents who don’t want their children watching that content can make sure their kids can’t access it, or something along the lines of that.

Remember Epic Meal Time? I think at the peak of their show their mission statement would have been similar to Dope or Nope (exchanging ridiculous Products with ridiculous Food), but they strayed far away from that and had less and less focus on food, seemed forced and people lost interest, cause they just got bigger, flashier and less about why people watched them. Another positive example would be a gaming channel I watch. He fell into a routine where he only posted the same 2 or 3 games over and over and recently decided to switch one daily spot for a different game every time and just judging from the views, my personal watch behaviour (watching everything instead of only picking a few up per week) and comments he now thrives again, cause I'd say the original mission would have been different games and reaction to those and he found back to that. Though to be fair he also has a lot of innate personality, so he still sticks out in the ocean of other gaming channels, without being too niche.

What is your opinion on having a channel that does basically everything. Summed up, basically Battle Universe, Fail Time, Get Good Gaming, Click Crew, and Rekt all on one channel. My thought process is I do a lot and have a lot of hobbies, so if I do a lot on one channel, I will reach a bigger and broader fanbase
