I respect a half decent high level Smoke over a high level Johnny or Liu any day. Another key to Smoke is that doing less ends up doing more in the long run. You have to get in their heads because EVERYONE has Smoke targeted and have learned him inside and out. Just look on YT there’s 7 videos of how to fight smoke and only 1 on how to fight Liu Kang if you search it.

There's a difference between that smoke and other smokes like me. Because it really doesn't matter what ppl try to do against Smoke because he's just nasty and can get around anything. Only high level players can make him extremely dangerous. He's potentially S tier.

Your liu is so damn good man! Love to see it. One thing i struggle with when i fight smoke is when he turns invisible. i never know what to do, sometimes they backdash and make me whiff, sometimes mix me up with overheads/lows, kameos, etc. Any tips?

I usually just try to sweep so if he stand he falls and if he blocks at least i know where he is or low fireball

That smoke needs to cancel his ports. Playing smoke at high level is way harder than most people think. Once people know his strings and how open he is you have no choice but to use technical advances. People say he’s cheap, but in reality at high level Kenshi, Shao, Johnny (especially Johnny) and Baraka are really the cheap ones.

The first smoke is 👎You can tell he didn't know how to smoke teleport cancel combos into his launcher. His low/ overhead and high/mid you get a full combo without even having to use the cameo- 34 percent. That smoke player had to use the cameo to get a combo. Second smoke knew it but did way too many YOLO smoke teleports. (I don't know why he quit) Smoke players you have to finish most combos with the teleport cancel- If they mash down 1- Finish with the mid- If they block cancel into the grab and if they are hit cancel into the launcher - That is what make smoke is dangerous. I think Smoke is for high-level play. I know you are a Liu Main, but I think you should try Smoke.

Seriously, there's a definite delay in blocking online..I can't block high and low mix ups consistently like in mk11. When I'm blocking low, system says I'm not blocking low, even on wake up at times. When blocking high, system says I'm not blocking high 😑

He’s super easy mode. I played lots of smokes and they don’t stop pressing because they think there pressure is real. Interruptible cancels and you can interrupt his phase attack with kenshi back forward 3 force push. It’s just really tricky to download especially if you hoping online.

Pretty much. To be a good Smoke Vs people that have him downloaded is all mental. You have to deny people the mental space of knowing what your gonna do next, because majority of smokes do the same flow chart. What I hate is how easy it is for Liu and Johnny to punish off one touch and they’re touches can start in so many different ways. Getting a touch with Smoke is way harder than Liu, Johnny, Millena, and Shaos ability to.

Yes, got to tutorial and master throw breakers. Once you get that down. Remember it takes 3 bars to do your combo breaker. Last tip! When your opponent is out of meter. Become super aggressive and keep the pressure mixed with throwing them when they defend. Good Luck!!!
