Quitting sugar is easier than you think! I have been a MASSIVE sugar addict my entire life. Could not go through a day without eating candy or chocolate. Never happened. But because of some health issues, I decided to go no sugar from 1st Jan this year. I promised myself that I would do it for a month and then I could go back if I wanted to. Firstly, I lost 2 kg. in 5 days, which was crazy. Bloating gone. Brain fog much better. And after 1 week I didn't miss it. Recently I was at a party where I allowed myself to go crazy in all the chocolate. And I felt almost sick afterwards and I didn't even satisfy me when I ate it, so was quickly back to no sugar the following day. You can do it! And you will be SO glad you did. I have been following Autumn Bates on youtube. She has some good detoxes etc. Good luck! 😍

Make sugar the least craving thing in your surroundings. Instead of having soda and candy lying around the house/car/office replace them with fruits, crackers and water/lemonade etc. You can't stop a habit without refilling the "hole" you've made in your identity - otherwise, it's just a matter of time before you go straight back to the sugar. Good luck!🧡 (This information abt how to stop a bad habit is from the book Atomic Habits)

So happy to see another video! Just had the most amazing morning where I woke up at 5am, trained at the gym, sauna, went for a sunshine walk, sipping on my lemon water as I watch this video and now about to do my morning routine!! My biggest battle I've faced in my life is my self image/body. I've been lean, I've been bigger, then back to lean, always back and forth. I've dieted, tried everything, even became a PT. In 2021, I committed to never dieting again and counting macros. Instead I've leaned into intuitive eating and develop a strong and loving relationship to my body, to food. For me there is no such thing as good or bad. I let myself have everything. At first I gained a bunch of weight because my body needed to heal. After a while, the weight started falling off as I stopped restricting and gave my body what it needed to heal (as my whole life i was in a deficit trying to lose weight/hating on my body). I've never felt more confident in my life. I train at the gym with such a happy and focused mindset, I eat what I want - which includes every food group, everything I love and also foods that nourish me and make me feel my best because I focus now on self love than hating on my body. I have the belief that I get to eat what I want and my body will take what it needs and the excess will dispose itself! P.S I never binge on anything since I properly started going intuitive eating - I used to binge a lot when I restricted chips, fast food, sugar, etc. Novelty of any type of food has dissolved!
@Hrat_62215 ай бұрын
This is similar to my experience! Trying to restrict always ended up leading me to binging in the end. I can’t mentally/physically restrict anything now without my mindset going crazy and causing me to think about food too much and end up binging. I eat everything now and focus on adding healthy foods rather than subtracting and it works for me!
@thisbrendalee5 ай бұрын
@@Hrat_6221 Yes me too!! I've never felt more aligned with my body!! Literally I've never had that much chocolate, chips, snacks, drinks, frozen food in my house and it legit just SITS THERE lol. Because the novelty of food has worn out as I've allowed myself to eat whatever I want. If I do crave something, I eat it until I'm satiated (which now is just a little bit because my body isn't starving for it from me restricting) and I put it away so effortlessly. Back in the day I would eat the WHOLE bag of chips like an insane person because I've gone so long without it lol. I realised through my own self love, healing relationship with food journey is just like abundance with money. If you treat food as an abundant resource (you don't need to restrict). And it won't end up like a yo yo effect of having money, then not having money - like gaining weight, then losing weight. Changed my life. Highly recommend DAMN THE DIETS on KZbin!

@@thisbrendaleewow, I never thought about that from a money sense! Love your vids. Your voice is great. My advice for quitting sugar, assuming you mean refined sugar, is start your day with a big plate of fruit or fruit salad for breakfast, and any time you crave sugar during the day have fruit. It's the real natural healthy sugar your brain and body needs, and once you make the switch it will become the most delicious sweet treat on the planet, as it is naturally intended to be.

🧡It took me two years of actively plan-fully quitting sugar. And now after years of not having it , I can incorporate it and occasionally have it in my diet and it’s of no concern/because I’m in full control. The first year was failed attempts at cold turkey. The second year was systematic weaning off in regular, documented increments to adjust my body: - I removed all sugar from the house. Including foods that had it. - I switched first to an organic natural white sugar and then spent some time measuring how much I actually was eating. Some days it’s was close to 4 baking cups. - I switched to an organic natural white sugar (just as harm reduction to take control) for a month or so. - I worked backwards and then cut the amount down in small regular increments, documenting. - I kept a little pre prepared care package with me of things like gum, an apple, water and headache meds for withdrawal, frustration and boredom. - when I reached the point of no sugar and no withdrawal symptoms, I made sure to not change anything else extreme in my life. -Then kept an exact looking substitute for sugar in the pantry for hard mental cravings that might come up. - I didn’t eat sugar in food (ex baking) again until about 6 months later/monitored myself for a ‘relapse’ It’s been several several years now. And now it’s just not a problem anymore. That’s what worked for me. (For cigarettes too actually)

In my experience you can give up sugar more easily when it's linked to another thing that you also want to quit (for example wanting to "quit" teeth sensitivity or acidification of the body). If you feel like you're crashing you can start with eating some fruits to satisfy the physical dependency. It is also my longest and most deeply rooted addiction yet somehow I quit it, without trying or feeling ready (while staying at a remote place with a bag of sugar in the pantry and not much use for it besides making cakes). There was no need at any point to replace sugar with artificial sweeteners. After going from 300- 500% daily recommended value to less than 100% I can now feel the effect of sugar when I have any, which I used to think was just a normal feeling. Really changed my perspective. Good luck on your journey! Thank you for your videos!

Tip for the Sugar 😊 Start to think about the reason why you love sugar. This can take awhile to get to the bottom of especially with something that you are attached to. Eventually you will start to see glimpses (memories and/or you become more aware of your triggers) that are tied to the sugar. So use this time as basically research and development 😂 when you get the craving - stop - become super aware of your exact moment - stay in that moment as long as you can - take note of everything during this time of the craving - what are you doing, how was your day, what do you see when you look in the mirror, take note of everything - if you find it difficult to mentally get in the present, you can start to physically take note of your surroundings. Once you become super aware you have then taken over your nervous system. It’s the same place where the craving lives. So you can actively choose. Hope this makes sense. 🥴

Hey Bobby, here is my perspective, I am sure not eating sugar for a period of time will be a doabke challenge for you and an experiment how it works out for you, but after you can evaluate for yourself how it serves you. Cause not that I want to make it harder, but I don't demonize sugar at all. You know, fruits are the best food to eat and gives you so much sweetnes and freshnes to your life, drinking natural juice is so light for your body. A tip I could give for your challenge is to use stevia as a sweetener, has no sugar. In my opinion as I cate about health, peiple quitting sugar, shall also think about quitting fatty and oily food, meat, dairy and eggs, but it seems not as many people care about that. You seem very healthy, so make it as a challenge, but most importantly, stay happy, healthy and high with everything you love! ❤

Hello Dear Bobby, you can do it! I had the same issue with sugar. I could quit easily everything except sugar... But then I needed to quit in order to get healthy immunity. Medicine woman prescriber me diet. No sugar, no additives... no milk, no gluten.... I was so devastated... But then you realise, that you want to have the best body and be your healthiest version. In a month my immunity boosted back to normal... And many benefits. So it is really worth it. And you can always find other foods which is healthy and full of nutrients and you can do even your recepies but healthier version. Also really stick to the food that you like. You have to feel satisfied even without sugar.... Maybe take it slower. Substitute sugar snacks with home made desserts, ice creams and fruits. You can do it.
