UPDATE 2024: RE: Music Meditation Channels/Videos -- I have beeen monitized for few years now, although still small channel as I have been sidetracked for personal reasons. I just became one of the "lucky winners" (HAHA) of KZbin's NEW pilot program where YT staff now MANUALLY reviewing random channels for repetitive/re-used material. Doesn't matter if actually original. Many like myself are getting nabbed and demonitized. I have combo of narrated all original videos, then drifted into related music meditation videos (about 40% I own exclusive copyrights) and remainder are music meditation videos where I paid for music licenses although not exclusive. I also live streamed the music meditation videos multiple times as I thought that was allowed, like being a radio station. I will likely have to delete the meditations with non-exclusive licenses if they will consider that to be remonitized. TO APPEAL: within 21 days, must produce 5 minute video to describe your channel and actually go through your videos to show how you came up with your script, video, editing, etc. If appeal rejected, you can apply to YPP again after 30 days of rejection. BE FORWARNED: They will be rolling out this pilot program youtube wide so be ready to defend your channel for monetization.

Hi there, thanks for this, if I may ask you 3 questions: 1- is the appeal vid for KZbin or to post on the channel? 2- what do they consider original? is the help of AI while still adding our touch and effort is original still? 3- also does the monetization pay good money in this niche?

@@salmasaad198 you ask great questions although not sure what you mean by #1?? appeal video goes on your channel as unlisted and then you let YT know it is available for review. YT does review it manually and there is deadline for appeal video. YT does not give any guidance about "re-used" content or what is original. I don't use AI so can't speak to that. Even if you win your appeal, you can be demonetized again. If you get demonetized you will have to go through the details of your video creation, production, editing, tools, etc. that you use and it needs to be channel wide, not just 1 or 2 videos. YT is making a larger effort to maximize advertisers ROI which I place on monetized channels. So they are clamping down on original content to give best results to advertisers. I did not make a meditation channel as the only focus but have combo of music meditation (music is exclusive to my channel and I own copyrights, not simply a license) and hypnosis as one of my playlists. CPM for each video can vary alot and CPM is what drives your income. I have had CPMs as high as $72 (unheard of) and some if the $40+ and $30+ range on a live stream music meditations and some as low as $4. Alot of factors drive CPM. It's not just about niche.

Hey there! Sorry to hear you're dealing with this. KZbin's manual review program targets channels with repetitive or reused content to ensure everything aligns with YPP policies. Even if your content is licensed or partially original, the algorithm and reviewers might flag it if it appears repetitive, like music tracks used multiple times or livestreamed. Yes, you can reapply in 30 days, but you'll still need to fix the flagged issues to get approved again.

Totally agree. I am a composer and I recently created a new "meditation/relaxation/studying" channel after almost a year of working with the Unreal 5 engine and Stable diffusion...These combined with a long experience in creating music for audiovisuals, games, etc so..I know you are right 100x100. KZbin doesn't let you monetize your channel using 500 Pixabay images or Envato etc music stuff that is "listened to" by KZbin Spider so it knows when you are offering repetitive content.

Hi Dear! Thank you!!! I am starting my handpan music channel. The music is my own, but I am myself not the most beautiful lady, so I was thinking of putting only nature videos. Yet if I am on the picture a little bit, KZbin will see it is my music. But then, the fact that I am average- looking may disturb the viewer... People loves your channel because of your work, not on anyone look. You're beautiful the way you are, you're unique and you're a miracle. Believe in yourself! Also, starting a brand new channel i'll suggest to start with 1 channel first as you'll need to put your full concentration in building it until you get approve for monetization. Having 2 channels i'm afraid you'll feel burnout quickly as what KZbin want is Quality over Quantity. With or without showing yourself in the video is alright as long as you follow the rules and regulation stated in the KZbin monetization policies. Hope this help :) Thank you too!

I thought KZbin was tired of seeing the same repetitive stock videos too and that they were demoneytizing some channels for that reason too... or that's an urban legend? 😁

Yes you can. As long as the music is originally created / own by you and making sure you're using free stock videos. If you feel insecure, just avoid footage that have been used multiple times. There were millions of free stock videos for you to choose, just put in the time to choose and you can also be creative by editing the video with effects, just be creative :)
