Had the exactly same issue. Puzzles my why Case IH / New Holland would opt to such weak bolt.

get a marker and mark the nuts so a visual inspection is all you need to see if the nuts back off..

Always a good idea! A little blue loctite would not hurt either.

The weak link in the set up is the e-clip on the clutch cable side of the fastener. Replace the entire part with a 6mmx35mm Clovis pin with a cotter pin and never worrying about this again.
