If your initiating guru must be physically present actually performing the fire sacrifice then many Prabhupada disciples were not initiated. Actually they all need to be re-initiated. It also begs the more important question of whether the living guru is really a bona fide guru.

You cannot say that to any of Prabhupāda's initiated disciples, The time when Śrīla Prabhupāda was physically present, all the initiations within the institution were going on according to Prabhupāda's will, even though He many not be physically present on many of the occasions.. Here's one letter for your reference, [They shall, of course, still be considered as my disciples, not that they shall become your disciples, but you will be empowered by me to chant their beads and that is the same effect of binding master and disciple as if I were personally chanting. (SPL to Revatinandana, 4th January, 1973) ]
