Guys, you might enjoy doing an engine maintenance course - often available at a local college. It's really important to check engines frequently for signs for hoses, brake pipes and wiring that are rubbing on other objects. Also watch out for rodents chewing wiring. (They can be discouraged by mothballs and by wrapping wires with aluminium foil tape.) Also use fully synthetic oil in the engine if it's suitable. It's worth the extra cost. You could do a video about this subject!

Before my husband's passing we traveled full time in a vintage trailer in the U.S. After his passing I was so lost I sold the trailer and bought a caravan. I traveled alone for 3 years until the cursed Covid (crap). I settled in to a vintage mobile home on 1/2 acre that I own. As a wanderlust I also backpacked through Central America for a year. I miss those days but now, as a woman of a certain age, I am happy where I am planted. You will never regret your adventures, the good and not so good. Love you both ❤

I agree 100% on your choice of freedom vs the traditional mill stone, I'm 66 years old and did the traditional mill stone way of life and have regretted it, especially after watching you guys having a ball of a time, so I'm having that time by simply watching you every week enjoying your lives to the full, no matter what comes your way... I have had good times but after 50 years of working my socks off, I can tell you that you are doing the right thing! Never give it up no matter what the obstacles that come your way, you have had such a great life to date, keep it up, and enjoy life for yourselves, never conform to the mortgage 2.2 children lifestyle, it is really not as good as they say...

I picked fruit in Australia too for 2 years (2012-2014) and during the long strenuous and repetitive hours of physical labor under a killer sun, I was making a plan on how to improve my future which was: I also wanted to work outdoors so train for a trade (electrician), get a job to get credit, buy a property renovate it sell it and do that again until you have the one you want to keep. I followed the plan and it worked, 10 years later I live on La Réunion Island I am renovating/rebuilding my house, I have a beautiful land overlooking the ocean with my girlfriend, some chickens a tortoise and a cat, many plants and I often think back at that time picking apples or grapes in Australia, it was definitely a defining moment for me.

God bless you both and Morgan. Wishing you the best you have lived life so richly and with joy and curiosity. One time after a bad purchase of a condo, all of them were leaky, a horror story in BC, Canada in the 80-s and on, I saw a lawyer about my concerns about buying it and the money I owed. He asked how much and when he hear the sum, he said, it is nothing, do not worry. You will get it all back and more. He was right. I did. And I did not fear losses as much following that. You will flourish because of your attitude and love of life. BEST to both of you. And Morgan will be fine and serving you well. Keep faith.

I had same issue with Toyota main dealer and loss of coolant . It went in for a full service I notify them about a small loss of coolant . It came back with no leak found after Toyota looked at it and pressure tested it . The pressure test is done by removing the radiator cap and pressure is applied to see if it drops . It never dropped . The next day it lost more coolant . It went back and tested again no leak on the system was found . I had two sets of paper work giving it a clean bill of health . Total mystery to the main Toyota dealer who serviced the vehicle from new . A week later it went back again I marked the coolant bottom with the pencil mark on the loss per day they tested again no leak . Went on a longer trip after reassurance from the dealer . When driving on the motorway the heating went cold no guage showed any movement then the temperature guage dropped as the engine coolant left the engine . Got home no coolant had difficulty starting it next day then checked total empty of coolant . Rac came out took the radiator cap off he turned it over and the seal was split on the radiator cap and this allowed hot water to evaporate and Engine to push out all the coolant . Went back to Toyota they said the engine was Fcuked . New engine for £ 5000 was needed . It was fitted the after it was done introduced the paper work and they had refitted the old radiator cap back on I showed them the rac report and eventually agreement was to go half . I refuse to pay and they refused to give me the vehicle back . Eventually when I threatened to hire a car until and bill them the eventual went to £1500 . Which I paid got the car back and never returned . I did think about legal proceeding but the cost wasn't worth it . For a £3 radiator cap . Good luck I hope the garage has liable insurance and they pay out otherwise the will probably just dissolve the company . Especially if it's a back street garage . Solicitors don't care how much it costs or if you win or lose they always get paid whatever the outcome even if you win no guarantee you will get the cash to pay the solicitor bill . They will play tennis will your money between the other parties solicitor racking up the costs . My advice find out if they garage has liability insurance and deal with them directly . Otherwise walkaway .

You have definitely had a run of very bad luck with Morgan of late, but what shone through so much was all the incredible things you have accomplished and experienced. Together you have had so many "once in a lifetime" adventures that many people will only daydream about. You are both brilliant for finding ways to make your dreams into a reality and being strong enough to challenge yourselves to live life a little more boldly and freely is a huge achievement. I have a Campervan and, thanks to a very diligent mechanic neighbour, I have had to learn about living with all the problems that Bio-diesel causes. I wonder if there is more to learn about this. At the end of my long trip last year I discovered that my engine was not getting cooled sufficiently because the garage put in just the standard oil at oil change. I now know I need a more specific one. Then I've had to learn about keeping injectors and fuel filters clean with other products that I have to put in. And I have a modern engine! Having an older style engine must be really tricky now the government is increasing the proportion of bio-fuels in diesels. Your situation reminds me of my example so I thought I'd share for anyone who hasn't managed to keep up with these ongoing changes that have the potential to cause engine problems. All success to you now, both. I have been watching you for quite a few years now, and you've introduced me to some lovely places around the UK by going there yourselves. All the best.

Hi. Your comments really resonated with me. I travelled extensively for 7 whole years, best times of my life even though i was sleeping on beaches etc. When i came back to uk, no one understood that this was my reality, my chosen life, and subsequently ended up in the rat race to fit in and be normal i guess... which now sounds bizarre but back in 1995 things were very different and people more narrow minded. Would love to have more freedom again. I am manifesting it and putting things in place. I have learned that no matter what... things do happen for a reason. I am 100% sure things will sort themselves out for you. Stay strong and believe. X

Nice to have a recap.... I remember you moving from the static caravan.... I wonder how you make decisions ? I think perhaps Liam is a driving force for change but that Janine has strong opinions and enormous courage in the face of adversity and difficult times. Possibly Morgan needs a chance to fulfil the plan? Difficult to have restlessness and yet be safe, secure and not fearful of more major expense but that is LIFE whether we have bricks and mortar or machines. Take it gently! Bon courage.

That was a such a well-presented re-cap of your travelling lives in recent years (Professional A**). With India and Ireland as your spiritual homes now, I don't think you're going to get "lost''. You love Morgan, right ? Why wouldn't someone else with that 12 months warranty? Wouldn't it be great if you could get sponsorship from a reliable van manufacturer like Mercedes. Two KZbin traveller channels using a Sprinter immediately spring to mind: Snow & Curt who (with their two kitty cats) travelled Central and South America over 4 years and are now in the Balkans. They shared some very serious ups and downs in their travelling lives with us. Then there's Russ at RVr TV who, from his base in Arizona, has taken us all over The USA. I feel 100% sure that you as "people people" would always communicate exactly as you find, and that's pure gold for sponsors as well as viewers. But whatever you chose to do next, let me give you my heart-felt thanks for what you have shared so far.

Hi guys, I've been a subscriber for years, and when you bought Morgan, I said a modern vehicle may not be a good idea, but you can always put the body on an older chassis cab. Neither engine fails were your fault, but the original one failing was inevitable, its modern rubbish. I hope you don't have to seel him, and if you carry on with vanlife, be prepared to retrofit an older over engineered chassis cab.

I hope you get sorted soonest. My wife and I miss your great adventures in Morgan and are hopeful life in Morgan continues as long as you both are also happy. I started watching you both as I turned vegan and loved seeing what you both enjoy and ate on your travels. I can’t imagine the stresses of late that you both have endured. You are a fantastic team second only to my wife ( Helen Rea )and I. lol. You two are great, and I hope you get your resolve. Terry Rea. I normally remain a mute but thought i’d let you know how much we enjoy watching your endeavours.

Do a Crowdfund… I am sure many of us would be happy to contribute to enable you to keep entertaining us. A little from each of us could amount to quite a lot towards your costs. 🙏🏻. Take care both. xx

Great content guys. As a seasoned mechanic with more than 45 years experience I can safely say that you have been royally ripped off. My buddy and I bought a lwb van for £1600, not dissimilar to yours (2008 model), with a wrecked engine (approximately 7 years ago). We bought a used engine from an Iveco Daily, having tested the engine first, for £450. Renewed no ancillaries, even the injectors didn't need programming to its' new home in our van. Renewed the timing belt assembly and oil and filter. We spent about £700 plus original van cost to sell a great looking, great running lwb high top van to a bloke in Birkenhead who converted it to a campervan. Even accounting for not "charging " ourselves a labour content; £18k is mental for two engines😐 So sorry that you have been shafted by the trade😢 I wish you every success in Morgan. Love and peace.

Before you got to the point of Freda being too small, I was recapping in my head that you were in Whitby when Janine announced that. Then you mentioned it. I was right. I had been paying attention hahah. I hope this summer is going to be better than last. If not, you'll be lucky to be able to head off to warmer climes and we can watch and enjoy with you. X

Loved this little retrospective. Think I ‘joined you’ stealth camping in York and been here ever since. Keep doing whatever it is you’re doing. Thanks for the videos. 👍

Gosh I can’t believe I have been watching since the beginning of your Van life. I can remember watching Janine empty your static caravan and getting rid of so many belongings. You have both done so well and had amazing adventures. No matter what you decide to do I’m sure it will be the right decision. Be well and be happy. 😊 ❤xx

What a great video. My first of your story is when Morgan engine had gone and you took off to India. Good to see your story. This was so interesting.

So much time has gone by since I first started following you both one thing that came to mind was on you saying shall we have a cup of tea and was instantly reminded of when Janine said the same thing for the camera and you laughed as you had to point out where the kettle was LOL ( she blew her cover, we know who makes the tea) I'm sure Janine edits them bits out now but best of luck and I wish you well with what you both decide to do next

I have so much respect for you guys. Watching the clips showing Janine crying made me cry! Its sad that you have been dealt these blows, but how you have dealt with everything is inspiring. We dont grow in comfort and ease, thats for sure. But, dear universe, this lovely couple have made enough lemonade so stop throwing them lemons! Enough already! Been watching from the start and am rooting for you. Huge hug. Tracy 😊

It was a bit of a puzzle at first but I finally figured out that you meant "mobile home" when you said "caravan." In the US we have mobile homes but no "caravans."

Ah, now I get it, thats a damn shame on the first company who did engine and ancillary with 12 months warranty... Well that wasnt worth the paper it was written on.

Hellooo😊. Having watched your adventures for a couple of months I have just realised that I was nearly a neighbour at one time. I live in Peacehaven. Fantastic seeing local footage. I would love to do what you have done. I have just given up work on January the 1st. I am 63 young and couldn't bear the thought of work , work, working anymore. As you mentioned, Covid changed a lot of things for myself and many others , who like myself where working in the care sector at the time . I just want to feel free to do what I want now as I realised life can be cut short at any time and "You only get one life". I hope you both continue to be happy doing wonderful things and experiencing life to the full .
