Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja answers a question concerning vapu (the form) and vāṇī (the substance) of the guru, and explains that it is not so black and white since the formal practices of a senior Vaiṣṇava may sometimes be slackened according to circumstances. He also speaks about hypocritical advice and that a devotee cannot be considered great by bombastic expressions, lectures or sweet kīrtanas. This talk was given on February 23rd 1982.
