This is their most underrated songs in my opinion. Cant see how this wasn't a hit back in the day. Unless it wasn't released as a single

The production and arrangement of the original wasn't that good...as was most of the Chris Bond-produced material. This version blows the studio version away.

Back Together Again came out just after I got my first car and an 8 track. Between this song, Rich Girl, and Sara, we knew these guys were gonna stay. They re-released She's Gone well after this, and off they went. Back Together Again was really the album/8 track that set these guys off. Deservedly so. Aside from the iconic songs I mentioned, Kerry and Crazy Eyes, and a few others are really sweet.

"The strong give up and move on while the weak give up and stay." This could be an ancient Confucius-like quote, it's so brilliant.
Let's not get carried away. Albeit, this is the best rendition of this particular self-composed song. But, the best singer-songwriter? Hands down, everybody knows that's Sir Paul McCartney. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. I'm not sure who coined that phrase, but I'm sure it would make one helluva song.

Such a talent. His show "Daryl's House" is great as well. You can tell he is having a good time jamming with his guests in that small studio. This song is one of his best compositions.........

You are right.... nobody even compares to Daryl vocally, he is so talented and sadly under-rated in the UK, except for us die hard fans who have been mesmerised since the '70s.... I just hope he comes back here soon, really need to see him live again.

Hall & Oates' original version is FANTASTIC - they are the PERFECT example of Pure Pop Artists. They also personify the definition of PURE WHITE SOUL. Ever since "I Can't go for That" I've been hooked on them. However, the Dramatics cover of "Do What You Wanna Do, Be What You Are" is SMOKIN'!!! I listen to BOTH versions in tandem; cannot hear one without the other...Pure Bliss.....

I've listened thousands of bands in my lifetime, everything from every genre, that completely obscure band from romanian basement? yep, i've heard it. The thing is, no one i've heard has delivered that kind of sensation and feel of what Daryl Hall can,. Needing no tuners or enhancers. maybe the flaws he might have make him the perfect vocalist, especially in his later age, when his lifetime kind of radiates from his rugged and harsh voice compared to his younger crystal-clear singing.
