This is one of several tactics I use when my clients or I are feeling tempted to- and it works!
Most of my clients don’t use crossovers in the weight loss stage of their THM journey (a few do!). I help them figure out when crossovers can be a help and when they are hindering weight loss.
In my case, having reached my goal, I found that I will GAIN with XO’s! I don’t need ANY to maintain weight loss. But I have seen dozens of my clients get to goal weight and need to introduce XO’s to maintain…everyone is different!
Since I’m not making a regular practice of XO’s I know it’s just fine to have one to help me feel satisfied and avoid temptation, because this is the season I’m in!
When I hadn’t reached my goal weight yet, or when I have a client in weight loss mode who is very tempted to go off plan, we try several other things first before reaching for a XO. But an XO is MUCH preferred over an off-plan choice. I can indulge in my S dinner and E dessert (XO together) without struggling with inflammation, cravings, and bloating later!
