My favourite doom metal band is Electric Wizard, its more stoner doom metal, but they add alot of retro fantasy horror themes in their vibes. very similar to Blood Lust

So many other bands that could have been mentioned... Type O Negative (they delve into it on MORE than one occasion), Paradise Lost, Moonspell, Candlemass..... But still a very good list.

@@franzwohlgemuth2002 true, these are just some of my favorites. I do listen to all of those bands (with the exception of Moonspell who I haven’t checked out yet) but I tend to favor stoner doom and funeral doom over epic doom and whatever Type O Negative does. :)

@@LoganAlbright73 Moonspell is amazing. Met then. Seen them when they toured with Type O negative. Their newer still dark but more anthemic than their older stuff. "Whatever Type O Negative Does"..... LMAO!!!!!!!!!!! Other than Cadlemass, the ones I listed are Goth metal doom. Candlemass is just a classic. I enjoyed the vid. Great list.

Sick! :D Generally doom metal isn't my go-to subgenre, but there are exceptions. The Pale Haunt Departure by Novembers Doom is a juggernaut of an album. And that first Pentagram album is a forgotten gem. I did try listening to that Ahab record but the vocals were indecipherable even by extreme metal standards so I couldn't really jam with it. If you've never heard them, Pallbearer are also a good newer doom metal band. :)

@@WillyWobbles-u7q To be quite honest (and somewhat to my shame) I have never really been able to get into them. The NWOBHM is not my genre in general. I like classic heavy metal, thrash, doom, death, black, and folk metal generally.

Excellent. I haven't heard of most of these bands, and look forward to checking them out. My friend Josh turned me on to SLEEP - 'The Sciences' (stoner doom metal). Besides the title, there are more Lovecraftian references, and call-outs to their musical heroes (Giza Butler is a track title) within. An experience.
